I Wish There Was a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder That...
I love my CB embossing folders. I have 15 of them so far. And I have used everyone of them at least once. But I find myself wanting a design that I haven't seen yet... stars. I have made a few birthday and halloween cards that would have been perfect with a star background.
I know that there is a new thing out that you can use your Cricut to create your own personalized CB folder but I would rather be able to buy one already made.
What design would you like CB to make in a folder next?
I really like Swiss Dots so I'm thinking maybe larger ovals, maybe smiley faces, SMall cupcakes would be flippin adorable scattered candles, plaid, water splashes....
Wow I'd never thought about this but I could see alot down the road that I would use.
Bandana look. American flag. diaper pins or binkies.

You can get the bandana look with the paisley print. Here is a card I did using that folder and the inking technique (open your folder, swipe your ink pad on the bottom, raised side, insert paper, emboss as usual). I used close to cocoa ink on bordering blue, but I have also done this with chocolate chip ink on ruby red (sorry, no example) and it looks very much like a traditional bandana.
Crop Stop has a good selection of the folders at good prices, and shipping in the US is FREE no matter how many your order. Still not as good a price as being able to use a coupon, but you don't have to pay shipping.
Stars would be good; Old Glory would be good - a full-sized folder, not a repeated pattern. I'd like to see some waves definitely and maybe leaves - big ones. Ooh, and I would like some snowflakes; yes, they've done that, but I mean, as if they're falling and not at all symetrically placed. How about baby hands and feet? How about flip flops?
Oh, this is fun. Thanks for starting this thread. and plaid and clouds and...
Sizzix has Texturz and #1 Me & My Big Ideas has Stars.. I love all the Sizzix and Fiskars Texture Plates for making backgrounds!!
I love the CB Folders, but Texturz by Sizzix and Fiskars Texture Plates are an alternative!!!
I use the fiskars texture plates as well and they work really well. You can design your own as well using transparency film. If you have a digital cutting machine (like a cricut or Craft Robo) you can make your own. I did a tutorial for the Craft Robo to make your own embossing folders a while ago. Here's a link to the tutorial if anyone is interested:

Thanks for the link to the tutorial. Unfortunately, I don't have a die cut machine hooked to my computer, I don't understand Photoshop enough to be able to do something like this, and I don't have the patience to go through all the effort you did to create one folder.

Here you go...DIY!! Cricut not needed, by the way. Punches and dies work like a charm.
I also think CB should be larger. Also there should be a way to put a blank card in and a plate so it only embosses the front of the card. RIGHT?
I hope I understood this correctly . Are you putting your entire folded card base in the folder so that front and back emboss? If that is the case, you can either unfold your card base so it lays flat and open and place just the front of the card in the folder and run it through to emboss. Or you can take the back part of the card base and wrap it around the back of the folder with the front inside the folder.
I know that you can find some video tutorials on YouTube that shows how to do it.

I like the idea of the stars folder too . I use the smaller folders a lot with the words on them. I would like to see some of those with script words such as 'Merry Christmas', 'With Sympathy', 'Thanksgiving Blessings', and other holiday and event words.
my ideas for CB embossing folders:
fall leaves (oak, maple) in a random, "falling from the sky" kind of way
poinsettias
big open roses
just a simple criss cross pattern ( like some use the scorpal for)
shamrocks
crosses
simple hearts (not in a box like the ones they have out
wood grain
linen
bigger dots in a pattern, not random
the label/marquee shape, like the top note die
and i'm sure i could think up more, but i'll stop there!
Have seen some cards where the background embossing leaves a space (square, oval, circle) in the center. This would be great to do in a one-step with a folder. KWIM?
Also getting them larger to avoid that dreaded 'border thingy' would be a plus plus.
I just saw on another thread a link to a blog where a person has come up with great ideas for making her own embossed sheets with, I think, her cuttlebug. I think her name is Valita. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
I'm not sure whether to wish they come out with the folders you've suggested, or to hope they don't because I wouldn't be able to resist buying them!
