Do you have Lego bricks in the house? My home made jig has served me well, it’s just a handful of Lego made into a right angle and I use a piece of sturdy acetate packaging as my placement sheet. I’m not on the computer that has pictures of it at the moment but shout if a visual would be useful and I’ll upload one tomorrow (getting round to bedtime on this side of the Pond!).
Ok seriously Joanne that cracked me up and I love the lego! Cool!
Thinking along the lines of a temp fix till you find it...
Do you have a T ruler? piece of random acetate...like from packaging.
anything with a right angle.
I am shocked and annoyed how much new ones are going for. Seriously? 40 bucks???
I do see one though new on AZ for 17.99 though. I dont know what the shipping is.
Here is one slightly used in the package at Mercari for 7 plus 4.60 shipping. Omg...another listing called it VINTAGE and collectible!! I am old. It is official. LOL Maybe now instead of saying "I have underwear older than you" I will say it about my stamp a ma jig.
You can get them on ebay. Also the stampin up version. Used and cheap. Since it is plastic it should be fine.
Variations:
If you have the Ranger make art STAY-tion...they have a corner tool. Misti makes them too. Even if you dont have a misti a clear corner might be easier to use?

Genius! I don't have any, but those are easy to buy!

Here we go, pics in case they're useful (although people are turning up leads for resonably priced ones if you want to go that way). This is seven bricks of the sort that have six 'blips' each. If you have neighbours or friends or family with kids it's probably a small enough quantity you could "borrow" those without the kids noticing!

I don't have the Misti corners so I wouldn't swear to it but I suspect they're not deep enough for wood mount stamps, you need a bit of a "wall" to snug up against and I think the Misti and STAY-tion ones are designed for cardstock etc. rather than deeper things.

Check out the toy section in a thrift store, you can get a few legos for pennies and YouTube will show you exactly what to do
That magnetic gridded mat has a right corner that’s magnetic. Then there is a clear stamp block that has a right angle and the other end another shape. This ensures you always put your stamping block in correctly.
