The only thing is that a sachet, once open, dries very quickly so one needs to have a couple of projects lined up. |
Thats an excellent idea! I’ve used Sugru for repairs and it is very easy to manipulate. You do need to use the packet once it is opened, but there is so little in the packet it could easily be used up for this project. The disadvantage I see from this hack is that the Sugru would have to be melted to the threads on the screw that comes down from the top of the Genesis, through the platform and sticks out underneath. And getting it to level with the remaining bumpers could be a challenge.
Just had a lightbulb moment after I typed that last line. I looked at the underside of my Genesis, and there are 3 rubber feet on the side of the unit with the cutting bar (the extra foot between the end feet adds extra stability along the entire length of the cutter side).
Easiest fix would be to borrow the rubber foot from the center, put it on the end that is missing the rubber foot and then fashion a Sugru foot for the center one around the exposed screw threads. It would be much easier to get a nice even, flat bottom that doesn’t rock by doing the hack on the foot that is in the middle rather than on the end.
