Default Frustration: Gemini Jr

Well, I'm about ready to take a hammer to my Gemini Junior. I simply cannot find the right sandwich to get it to cut a simple Sizzix die. I keep having to revert to my trusty old Big Shot....the manual crank, original one! I followed the suggestions in the manual but no success. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? I have used it with some success (once) when I first got it, but not now.

Has anyone got some sage advice?

Could you be more specific as to the type of trouble that you are having? I use my Gemini and Gemini Jr. to cut an assortment of brands of dies. Is your sandwich too thick, so that the machine will not accept it, or is it too thin, so that the die will not cut through the paper?

You might find some helpful hints in Jennifer McGuire's recent post on preventing warping on gemini plates. She shows exactly the sandwiches she uses (note that she admits/warns that she breaks "the rules" ).

She has an older post reviewing the gemini machines which also show a sandwich for both sizes of the machine.

Yes, this is the problem. I don't think the problem is the die itself, but I'm obviously missing something on the sandwich. It doesn't cut the paper at all. It goes through the machine okay. I have followed the "recipe" in the manual, but still no joy. I'm using Sizzix Thinlits dies.

The problem isn't warped plates ...yet... as I haven't used it that much.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for those links. I just watched the reviewing video and I think I may not have been using all the plates and shims, so I'll give those a try this afternoon. I love all the Jennifer McGuire videos. She's very easy to understand and follow.
