Default Flower Frogs....where to find them?

Do you know what I'm talking about? I guess that is what you call those upside down metal spikey things that people use to hold a card while they take a nice photo of it. Are these all vintage or is some company making them new....? I would love to know as I want one and don't know where to look for one!

Anne

I remember looking for these too last year and they were difficult to find. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. But I did find a gorgeous one that I purchased from someone on ebay.

The only place I have ever found them is eBay. If you get the vintage metal ones be prepared to pay a bit extra for shipping... they are heavy!

You could also try an antique store.

Both Etsy and Ebay sell lots of vintage Flower Frogs.

I bought mine new online at this store: http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bi...rogs&x=15&y=13

I got the 3" one (the prongs are just under an inch tall). I like it, but I did notice that a metal residue came off on my card. I cleaned it and sprayed it with a clear sealer. I attached a picture of a card in it...

Definitely try your local antique and second hand stores. You can probably get them alot cheaper there then on ebay.

You should be able to find them at a flower supply shop- somewhere you would buy flowers for a loved one. Or try ebay- but there you'll get hit for shipping.

My suggestion would be to hit a couple of yard sales this weekend and you will probably find some. Chances are excellent that when you find a sale that has them, there will be many to choose from (anyone who used them for flowers typically would have many sizes for different arrangements). The frogs are usually tossed willy-nilly in with the really junky items because most people don't know what they are used for, so poke around and really look for them. Going rate in our area for the smaller ones is in the 25-50 cent range and they are plentiful!!!

Good luck with your hunt!
