Using the new SU Bigzshot Edgelits to make a card front edge with Cuttlebug. It has been pressing through to the back no matter which way I place the cutting blade or which way I fold the card. Does anyone have a tip???
Can you open your card so that only the front portion goes into the machine with the die? I don't own any edgelits and I'm not that familiar with my Big Shot, so I may be misunderstanding what you are saying. Hopefully someone with experience will be able to help out.
I have folded the card back and also tried the edgelit inside facing down. In addition to the edgelit problem there is the Cuttlebug plates causing a mess because they are so marred from dies that they leave marks. That is enhanced when I try to put paper in between the wrong side of the paper to avoid the marks of the edgelit--that didn't work.
I wonder if a Bigzshot does better at this.
I am wondering if it is difficult getting the edgelit placed at right angels to the paper. I used one once in class and my cut line was not square to the card
When you cut a card front edge with the edgelits, you should have to card all the way open. the sandwich should be the multi-purpose platform with all tabs closed (SU has been demonstrating it used upside down with the white side up), clear cutting plate, paper, edgelit with the ridge side down, clear cutting plate. The scallop edgelit is really close to the same size as the cutting plates and when I got my first one, it was actually about 1/16" bigger than the plates and got stuck in the side of the machine as I rolled it through. I notified SU and they replaced it. Another trick is to hold everything, the edgelit, the cardstock in place with a sticky note.

This is how I do mine, and I have no issues. I use a small piece of removable scotch tape to hold the edgelit in place.
