Default Distress Marker Refilling ink?

Hello Fellow Paper Crafters,

I have quite a few distress markers that have dried out. I did notice in the forums that a few people had the same issue with these markers. Does anyone know if these markers can be refilled somehow? Maybe with the distress ink reinkers?

I recently saw a video that Tim Holtz did where he recommended doing a quick spray of the marker tip with ink refresher to bring dry markers back to life.  Obviously these markers are dry but not empty, so...

I would try taking the nib out and adding reinker. That's how Stampin' Up markers work (the ones with regular ink)

All the Distress inks are different to each other, so the reinkers for the inkpads won't give you the same result. The only reliable recommendation I've seen is the one fionna51 has put up, which is using Perfect Refresher, but that does rely on the pen not being totally dry. I'm guessing this drying out- maybe because the lids aren't fully 'clicked' on?-is the reason they are being discontinued.
