Default die machine question

I have a Purple Wizard machine and a Cuttlebug. I have a pillow box die from Sizzix that I can't get to work in either machine. The pillow box die is cutting through the paper where it is supposed to put creases. I tried to put a tan mat in my "sandwich" and it cut through the tan mat! Frustrating. Can anyone out there tell me what sandwich recipe to use? I really appreciate it!

Sorry. I'm not familiar with that die. What sandwich are you failing with?

When using that die with the Sizzix BIGKick or Big Shot, we use a premium crease pad. This allows the score lines to stay score lines but not cut through the paper. It's a steel rule die, so it will cut through tan mats or silicone rubber mats, along with a bazillion other products.

I don't know if the crease pad can be used or not in the Wizard. I believe to get it to work in the CB people have shaved the sides down so it will fit through. I just measured mine and it is a little over 8 3/4" high and just over 6" wide. If that will fit through the Wizard, I'd suggest getting one.

Right now on the Sizzix Outlet on Ebay, you can get the Blue premium crease pad (IMO, the best one out of all the different colors) for $7.50 INCLUDING shipping which is a very good price. Click HERE to see it on their outlet.

Thank-you! Is the crease pad hard like plastic?

The crease pad is firm but had some 'give' so that the die blade will leave an impression on the surface but will not cut the c/s on the folds. Don't know if the fold area blade is a little shorter or not. The crease pad is used in place of the acrylic pad that would normally be on top of the c/s.

It feels like a self-healing cutting mat feels, I think they are made out of similar material.

You just use it for your cutting plate in place of the regular cutting plate. You will see marks in the crease pad from the cut but that's ok.
