Default Die cutting machines

So I'm taking the plunge and getting some type of die cutting machine. Ive got a big shot but its too limiting!

So my question is which one would you prefer? ATM I'm thinking the cameo silhouette but Im not 100% decided so tell me which would you prefer

I love the Grand Calibur! The plate is wide so you can cut several dies at a time.

This really depends on whether you want to use all the dies available(and which you have probably a collection of!) & embossing folders- in which case the Big Shot Pro is awesome. I got mine because I was fed up with dies getting bigger than my 'bug could manage. Its a big machine though, so storage can be an issue. I did a write-up HERE on my blog.
The Silhouette is a fantastic machine- I still have my Original Silhouette going strong, after maybe 10 years. I got it when they first launched. The big plus point with them is being able to cut anything from a quarter inch high, to 8". The Cameo also takes 12x12 paper/card. You can cut with any font on your pc, including Dingbats. There are also a wealth of sites out there with free svg files. UKScrappers is a forum for all these machines. People on there have a lot of expertise with them and are always happy to help a new owner. Also, when you have been a forum member for one month, you have access to thousands of free files members have posted up.
Birdscards is a blog which posts up loads of cutting files, and a Pinterest search for SVG files/ Silhouette files will lead you to many more. I suppose the greatest advantages of the digital cutters are no storage problems for a mounting collection of dies, and the ability to tailor the size you cut out exactly to what fits your project, not just the closest die size to what you actually want. I have to say that the customer service I have always had from Silhouette has been first class-losing all my shapes to a hard drive fail! They store electronically your purchase list, so you can re- download them.
For versatility,( and lack of expense of dies etc) it would have to be the Cameo- I would absolutely not be without mine. Hth.

I love my Cameo. The silhouette store has thousands of designs you can down load for 99 cents each. You can also cut SVG files from other sites, but you have to purchase an upgrade to the Silhouette software for $50 to do that. Still, I recommend the Cameo without hesitation to anyone. Silhouette has a channel on you tube with tutorials on how to use their software, and also highlighting some of their products. They are releasing some stamp making material this month so you can even cut your own stamps.

Here is a listing of machines and reviews. I have the Gazelle and highly recommend it. It is so easy to use...it cuts and embosses.

I like KNK machines because I want to be able to cut thick material. I have a KNK Maxx. Their Zing is a great machine, too.

I got my Cameo during the Black Friday sales last November, it was the first electronic cutter I ever owned. And loved it. There are a few youtube videos explaining the differences along with other threads here, facebook, etc. Good luck with your shopping.

If you already have a bunch of dies, consider the Accucut (either the Mark IV or the GrandeMark). I love my Accucut Mark IV. It cuts a ton of different dies and it is all I will ever need in a die cutter. I recently got the big shot for "smaller" dies (Sizzlits) and that is also working out well. Could not do without the Accucut.

Default Accucut machines

I am with you Jenn, I love my Accucuts, have both the MarkIV and GrandeMark. Lots and lots of card diecuts, boxes, bags etc. picked up most of my dies on craigslist.......even got some from scrapbook stores closing sales. I have the sizzix converter platform well worth the cheap investment for that so can cut bigz dies in a jiffy.
