Has anyone made any cards using the cuttlebug sledding embossing folder?
I was going to use it to make some Christmas cards but need some inspiration. Anyone willing to share their ideas here?
I have this one but haven't used it yet. Did you know that the first release had a typo on it? The word icicle was spelled wrong. Let's see... was it spelled iceicle?

Yikes, you mean they already have done one correction on the Sledding folder? I discovered when I used mine last week that it debosses rather embosses - the words are not embossed like they are with every other folder. That means that you can't brush the tops with ink to highlight the words.
I called Provocraft about this and they seemed disinterested that the folder was really a debosser rather than embosser....I suspect that the error wasn't caught in the molding process and they just don't want to re-do it. Anyone else annoyed with the way the Sledding folder works? :(
If it is supposed to deboss, why is it called an embosser? It impresses the images the opposite way of EVERY other sentiment embossing folder they have.
It is for this reason alone that I am of the opinion that someone made a boo-boo in the design process at the stage when the molds were made. If Provo wants to add a category called "debossers" to their list of cuttlebug products, that is fine and dandy. However, to market a product as something that it is NOT strikes me as as a sloppy business decision. Just my 2 cents....
I noticed that, too, about the embossing issue. I don't have it, but a friend did some for me. I thought she did them wrong somehow, so I asked another friend, same thing. I think the words should be raised. I personally thing it's wrong. I'd rather be able to CB on white core paper then sand over the words to have them pop.
And actually the mispelled "icicle" was not a mistake, either. It was supposed to be that way, kind of in line with the other words that look like a child wrote them. Enough people complained, though, that they decided to re-do it.
Wow, Lesa's card is MUCH better than mine turned out! I too was disappointed when I ran this folder through my machine the first time. I would have preferred embossed image(s)/words. I did make some samples while playing and put some flock on the snowman. I also think some glitter would be pretty on it too. Katie
Maybe it's supposed to look like someone wrote the words in the snow? Just a thought.
Perhaps so, but the words are still DEbossed rather than EMbossed. That was my original point - it should have been marketed as a debossing folder. Someone earlier said that it was marketed this way, but I never saw it listed this way on any of the sites I checked.
I guess it doesn't matter now, but I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that I couldn't use it in the way I intended.
I used it once - the embossed layer is still sitting on my table. I can't seem to get any inspiration with this particular folder. Will keep watching SCS in hopes of getting some ideas.
Yeah, I bought it think it was an EMbossing folder also -- I was surprised to find out otherwise. I would use it ALOT more if it was an embossing folder. I've made a few cards with it, but I wouldnt have bought it either if I know it was a debossing folder.
I didn't realize about this folder either. I've seen several nice cards and never even realized and just got it through joann's. Cambria has a nice card she's done that she used the Sakura gel pen to outline on and it looks great:
