Cuttlebug Handle Defect?
I finally broke down and ordered a Cuttlebug for my birthday. I received it today, but when I tried to put the handle onto the machine with the included screw and hex wrench, I couldn't get the screw to go in. When I looked closer, I discovered that the screw head was not even slotted for the hex wrench. The shape was there, but there was no hole, kwim? I am SOOOO disappointed! Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do?

Cuttlebug Handle Defect
Hello Christinesmom2004,
I have a retail store in Abbotsford, BC. One of the cuttlebugs that I sold had the same problem. Provocraft says that some of them were shipped with the WRONG screws. Either take it back to where you bought it and get them to exchange it (best idea) or phone Provocraft and they will send out the proper screw. Make sure you test the new one out before leaving the store if you go that route. scrappy_t73 |
Had the same problem a couple days ago - I have a small tool that has about 10 sizes of hex wrenches in it- opens like a pocket knife - the smallest one worked! It didn't seem to take much to screw it in - might try a push-pin or something on that order.

I had the same problem Christmas morning! Not exactly the same - there was a *hole* for the hex wrench, but the screw itself was too small. I ended up exchanging it (was bought at Joanns) and the second one worked perfectly!
Hope you find a solution that works for you! |
exchange it right away because playing with the bug is contagious!

Woohoo! I just heard from the online company I ordered my Cuttlebug from. They are sending me a new one today, along with a postage-paid label to return to them the faulty one. I don't think I can reveal their website here, but I am totally impressed by their customer service! Thanks everyone for the advice.
