Default Can we talk printers, ink, and digis ?

I have never used digis before so I am a bit lost in that area. We are researching printers right now ( Ours died in our last move), and I want a good one and want to be able to use it for digis. I don't think I would ever go solely to digis, but I do like the idea of being able to get them a bit cheaper than regular stamps.

Now, what kind of inks work best to water color and use colored pencils and OMS..and

How the heck do you use digis? Like I lost here...can anyone direct me to a tutorial on them??

Thanks ladies...

This is the most enlightening video tutorial on how to use digital stamps I've ever seen. Before watching it, I didn't even know you could layer digital stamps.

I don't water color or use colored pencils with OMS, but a regular inkjet printer works for me so far for coloring with Copics. I've heard the best thing to get is a laser printer, though. Because the image is seared to the paper or something?

I don't use digis much, but I do print sentiments on cardstock quite a bit using my printer. I like it a lot and it was inexpensive. I got my printer at Walmart. Here is a link:

Canon Office MX360 All-In-One Multifunction Printer ? Walmart.com

I would advise that you try to find a printer that has the paper rack outside, not a drawer inside. When the cardstock has to go through the printer and roll around a roller, it sometimes/frequently gets jammed.

If you have a printer with an outside/top-loading rack, it goes through the printer almost flat, or at a slight angle and out the front without having to curl around anything and doesn't jam.

You can't see the outside rack in the Walmart picture, but you load the paper in the back of the printer.

I have an Epson - our second one. Only replaced the first one because it was really old and only black and white. Never had a problem with either one and they print beautifully. Their ink plays well with Copics and OMS, and if you print out your own photos, they're crisp and wonderful color.

I have an HP officejet and my printed images bleed terribly with Copics, even after blasting the image with my heat gun. I even tried different cardstocks - Wassau, Georgia Pacific, Neenah, PTI - nothing worked.

I'm thinking of getting a laser printer just to use for digital stamps. I'd like some suggestions also.
