I saw them at Joanns and just couldn't resist. I was going to use my 50% off coupon, but come to find out that they are on sale for like 40% off this week!!! WOO HOO.
It took me FOREVER to choose a set. I finally decided on Labels One. Can't wait to play with them!
I almost bought two...but my bill at Joanns was already up to $59.00. I went in there to buy a few supplies for a craft project for my kids (something they saw in a magazine) and ended up spending about 2x more than what I had planned. LOL
But I needed a heat gun for embossing, it was on sale. And I've been WANTING some Nestabilities, and THEY were on sale. And the paint I needed for the art project was on sale...so.. at least most of the stuff was on sale. LOL
I'm hoping my DH doesn't ask how much I spent. HAHAHA!
Hooray for you! I love, love them and use one of my many sets on most of the cards that I make.
I've built up my collection over time and have quite a few. I've used coupons, and sometimes have found good deals on different websites, too.
Here are some nested dies that I recently found that are quite a bit like Nesties, but about half the price, only about $12 for the set. They have a reasonable flat rate priority shipping, too, if you get a couple of sets.
They work the same way in my Cuttlebug that Nesties do, and I like them a lot. Scroll down a ways to see the ones that are black metal. They have several different designs:

Are these dies metal? could not find a description. What is the difference between the Black and the colored?
Thanks for your response.

Yes, you've made a great purchase. Nesties are da bomb! They're also addictive. I have 36 sets right now and I want most of the new ones that are coming out. I also want the big ones, but I'm afraid to go there.

I can't speak for the ones that look yellow and green on the page. I got several sets of the black ones shown, and yes they are metal. They don't seem to be quite as heavy as Nesties, but they are metal and they cut very cleanly. For half the price of Nesties, I think they are a good deal.
Sprtchick-Amber who posts here a lot and makes thousands of cards for our troops, has them, too and uses them a lot. I found out about them from a post she made. If they hold up for the large numbers of cards she makes, I'm sure they will work for me.

It's on now! It may be your first set but probably not your last!!
Love them

Enjoy!! I love the professional looking embossed edge you get with them!!
What's next on your list? You have to have one... ;)
Hey Bugga....yes I love the Nellie Snellens..they are compareable to the Nesties...and the designs I purchased are just stunning....elegant. But I am so looking forward to the new release nesties in the next couple months....they just keep getting better and better...gotta wonder who thinks of all the beautiful designs...awesome! OH..I wanted to suggest that you check out Ebay for nesties..I have gotten several there and you can find some awesome prices.
Blessings.
You will love them and wonder how you managed without them.
But be forewarned, they are like potato chips you can't have just have LOL
May I suggest you search the Net for "Cheap Casserole recipes" so you can have more money for Nesties LOL Getting these things becomes an obsession and you will cut corners on other things to buy them
Very good advice Barbara Jay. Hang onto your clothes too! It doesn't matter if you're so out of style that your clothes are almost making a comeback! Hey, you got Nesties and that's all that matters!
BTW, I've never paid regular price for any of mine and they're $32.99 here in Canada too. I've shopped at Ritz Cameras, & Joann on line and bought quite a few at Hobby Lobby when I visited my son in Tennessee. Wish we had HL here. Their on-line prices are terrible.

Oh, my yes....very true! My biggest regret with these, is NOT that I bought them, but that I didn't document what I purchased. I didn't understand the size thing, I still really don't. Now I've got ovals, circles, rectangles and who knows if they're small, large, classic, or whatever...very frustrating! Oh, and I'm too lazy to measure to find out! I guess as long as I don't buy anymore it's not a big deal....

You don't need to perform a complicated mathematical exercise to identify what you have LOL
Put "each set" of circles separately on a table in graduated sizes order with the smallest one in the center
You should now have TWO sets of circles on the table.
Look at the largest circle in each set
One of them is 1/4" larger than the other one.
The set with the largest circle belongs to the set " circles large " and the other largest circle belongs to the set " circles small"
Label the case you store them in as to what you have.
This is true of Nesties set that have two sets that appear identical
Example: Classic circles large; Classic circles small-------Classic "Scalloped" Circles large; Classic "Scalloped" circles small. And so on
If you prefer or only have one set of a shape you can measure the "largest" of each set and go to the Spellbinders site and they show the actual measurements and name of each set .

Not that I have my first cuttlebug coming to me I'm planning my first Nestie purchase as well. I won't have money for one until February 5th...no, 20th. I have to have $$ for Valentine's Day! doh! But by then the new ones will be out, right? So I'll have more to choose from. I'm looking forward to shopping.
Funny thing. It took me nearly 10 minutes to decide to buy the Labels One. It was between those or the cirlces. So tonight I was working my DH's Valentine's card, and wanted a circle to put behind a scalloped circle. I thought "DARN! Should have bought the circles." LOL
So maybe on DH's payday I'll go back and get them.. .if I can sneak off to the store. LOL

LOL Yup this is how we end up with a gazillion of these dies .

The new ones won't be available for sale until March or later
It takes a while to get them to all of the retailers
I just jumped on the nestie bandwagon too!!! And what set did I pick....
labels one!!!!!
And yes, I can already see that I am going to "need" lots of other sets!!
Mine should finally arrive tomorrow!!!! Yippee!!!! I thought the labels would be great for mini albums, cards, scrapbook pages, tags.....etc. Seems very versatile!!!
Two questions... 1) I have the large circles and scallops and the large ovals and scallops. Should my next purchases be the small of each of these or the labels? I can't decide. 2) What is the best way to store them?

Those dies look great, especially for half the price of Nesties! Do you get the embossed edge like you do with the Nesties? That is my favorite thing about using them, and why I can't bring myself to buy the Top Note die from SU - I'm not nearly as fond of the perforated edge as an embossed edge, plus I love to use layers. :-)

They are pretty much like the Nesties...I just love them!

I got the labels set because I want to make some mini albums and cards with them. They seem to be very versatile!
ssbarn: I'd recommend the labels one set for sure!!
I've seen them stored on a magnet and in cd type holders. I think this would work well for me because I don't have a scraproom or a lot of storage space.

I cut squares of heavy corrugated cardboard and put a strip of self-stick magnetic tape down the middle. Then you can put a whole set on the square. I keep the squares standing up in a plastic shoebox and just flip through to find what I want. It doesn't look fancy, but is very functional and doesn't use a lot of space. I carry stuff back and forth from a room to a table where I make cards, and it's easy to transport.

There is a sizing chart -link in my signature. It has the sizes of all the nesties. Friday I will release the update with the new release Nesties in it.

Have fun with your new set and any future sets you buy.

I just found out about nestabilities too, and have 4 sets now and I expect 4 or 5 more to come in the mail tomorrow. The reason I bought them was because I stumbled across the double embossing you can do with them. You have to check out the video Nilda has done, here is her link. http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com...lebug-and.html
You have to have a tan mat, kind of rubbery thingy, to do this, another brand of cutting/embossing machine has them, I use it with mhy cuttlebug, but they are the same material as a plumbers gasket you can buy a sheet of at the hardware store and cut to size. I think I pad $6 for the tan mat, but the plumbers gasket is less expensive. Beside, crafters need to go to the hardware, they have all those little box thingys with little compartments you need to buy to store all kinds of things in.
I LOVE this video with her technique. I emailed her after watching it, as I could not remember the steps without going back to the video. She gave me permission to share the typed up instructions that I did of her video instructions. They are pdf form, 2 pages I think, they are on my other laptop. I will share with any and all, you can pm me and just ask away. The cards made with this technique are SO gorgeous for sympathy or anniversary cards or anything. YOU HAVE to see her video, it is awesome. Can you tell I love this technique, can't wait for my new nestabilities to arrive, I think I will have 10 sets then.

Nikki...I might have to start begging on a street corner for money for nesties...the new release is awesome...I am jabbing at the beggars on the corners here in Vegas because they just did a report on the local news Monday evening saying these guys/gals make a lot of money and many of them do it because they just dont want to work. One of they guys said he just blows the money on alcohol and gambling. This man had on his sign that it was to support his wife an kids and he had neither...wonder if I could have a sign that ready trying to raise money for new Spellbinders release dies if I would get some good donations....? the Mayor of Las Vegas said NEVER give money to the panhandlers.
blessings.
