And I think the "Flesh" one is too dark.:( I should have gone w/ the prismacolor one called "sand" that one was lighter. I'd go back but it's about an hour away and I can't get back before the sale is over.

Someone on another thread pointed out that "flesh" is actually the pink color underneath our outermost layer of skin (which is actually dead cells, I think).
This is a Japanese company so their idea of colors could differ from ours! Check out the Copic Chatter thread, and CJBAPP posted a scan of her markers swatched on her paper--it really helps to see that, rather than a monitor screen, for a closer idea of the color!
Also, I think R02 is "Groovy Guava" or "Cameo Coral" so it could still be a useful color...

save the flesh, you will use it, skin tones are different and there are other means of use for that color.
I am still new to this web site, so I need to find copic chatter thread.
Also, you can youtube Amy Reeder Hadley, she does some good demos and explains colors, etc...
Best of luck. I'm about to order a larger set with refills. A birthday present to myself, very easy for dh and dd's to shop for, I just show them a website
I would never buy copics without going to a few blogs and looking at what colors people used to achieve certain results. There's a few sites that tell you step by step how to color magnolia stamps and there's a lot of skin on them. Look at the flowers they've colored or the Riley's they've colored...even the house mouse stamps. Several sites tell you exactly what markers they used to get the results they got. As much as these markers cost I do a LOT of research before I place an order. I HATE sending stuff back. I've got a damaged MM paper trimmer sitting in my studio right now that has to be sent back. I've been dreading it like a toothache. Luckily, hubby is home this weekend so he can do it for me.
I wish I had my sites bookmarked to share with you. One that I can think of is papermonkey.org. (something like that) She's very good with copics and colors.
Kind of difficult to imagine one color pen called "flesh" would be the right color for all flesh <smile>. There are so many variations in skin colors across the globe that I would expect there to be experimentation needed to get the right combo...

Why is the "flesh" so dark?
Hey txpackrat,
Don't worry about the color you have; apparently it's a pretty good color to have on hand if not for skin (LOL, LOL). Okay, I'll be serious now. ;)
Try the link I'm including below. It should take you straight to post 3/3 on Copic skin tones by Marianne who works for Copic teaching people just the kind of thing you want to know. This is her blog.
