For the mini album, these would be medium to large gemstones (like from Jo-ann, Michael's jewelry/crafts section vs. the mini blings in the scrapbooking section), and they'd be going on paper-covered chipboard and fabric.
What's the best adhesive to keep these things on? Definitely don't want the bling to come off :p!

I'm all about the bling
and use the gemstones a lot on cards and altered notebooks. I found a huge container at Hobby Lobby of all colors and sizes and was so thrilled. They are not self-adhesive, so I've had a lot of practice applying them.
The best thing I've found to use is the Tombow Mono Multi liquid adhesive in the green and white bottle. You only need to use a tiny dot where you want the gem - when you put the gem on, it spreads out underneath. Then wait just a minute and press gently with your fingertip. If any excess comes out around the edges, remove it carefully with a toothpick.
It doesn't take long to dry, and when dry you cannot pull the gem off without tearing the paper. Some people use glue dots to apply the gems, but I've found the glue dots stay kind of "wiggly" and the gems stand up higher and would be more likely to get knocked off the project.
Have fun with your albums!
