Can anyone enlighten me on how to avoid the edge of the folder imprint when using the small 2x2 embossing folders?
Am I the only one experiencing this frustration?! I've searched the forums but I haven't been able to find the answer to this question. Am I not phrasing the question correctly?
MSBetsyZ- Tried your tip. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Took a A2 size card and cut out along the edge a 2x2 size folder. Put the folder with cs through the CB with this new shim sandwich and still came out with the outline impression. So-o I added another single layer of the cut out edging around the first and tried again. No luck. Tried a third time by using 2-A2 sized cards with the cut-out edge around the folder and still having the same result.
The impression strangely doesn't get worse or better though, which I think is odd.
Just saw Barbara Jay's tip - going back to adjust my shim and use chipboard instead of cs. I'll report back when finished.

Reason: additional note
Ugg!!! I'm a visual learner so I must be missing something (and very simple too), because it's not working for me.
Used chipboard, cut it a "tad" smaller, put them on top of the folder, ran through the CB and voila! Instant impression of the folder edges ...again!
Any one know of a YouTube video out there to clear this up for me?
BTW - these are the blue QuicKut embossing folders, if that makes a difference.
Sprtchick - I've done that often but I am looking for a way to NOT cut it out. I would just like to simply emboss it on the card.
...thanks for trying to help. I appreciate you.

I've always wondered how to do this. Wouldn't the embossing have to be close to the edge of the CS for you to use it? How could you use these small folders anywhere on the page?
I've got this blog bookmarked, because it had so many cuttlebugging tips. Lots of tutorials, for both cuttlebug and bigshot, listed along the right sidebar. I've found it to be a wonderful resource to keep handy. The tutorials are so helpful for those of us who are visual learners. Indigo Inklings: Works for Cuttlebug small folders, too
Hope this helps.
OH YES!! found the YouTube video - No-Lines Brayering with Cuttlebug Folders - YouTube
on no lines embossing by Lynette (My Stamping Addiction blog). Thanks to Craftymomto2 who posted the link to another question about this same dilemma.
How easy it is - a no-brainer actually (tells you where I'm coming from!).
Thank you to all to came to the rescue!!!
I'm off to practice & embed this new found knowledge and make some fun cards.
