Have you ever ordered from them? Is it wholesale only? The prices are terrific, but I would have to do a ribbon share because it comes in rolls of 100 yards! I couldn't find a sample chart to purchase for color comparison

No, I haven't but I considered it. The last time I ordered, I used the ribbon retreat. I've also ordered from ****************** dot com. I noticed that the colors are nearly the same - so I'm guessing that "Copen" taffetta would be the same as "Copen" grosgrain and would probably match Pacific Point. You could call and ask for swatches. Also, almost all my ribbon is on 100 yd spools - roughly the size of small dinner plates. It's taken me longer to "collect" it - I don't feel the need to "save it" and I will never run out! And at $10.15 per roll, it's quite a bargain. {I should note that I do not have all the colors...}
Thanks Julie In Indy for the list of matches. Your so sweet and organized!
Thanks - I should point out that the Excel spreadsheet was created by RCarter - she is the organized and sweet one. All I did was add an extra column for the other company I've used.
Wow, I looked at this site. It's cheap but do I need 100yds of each color? Hmm, I'm also wondering if these match the SU colors. If so, does anyone know which colors match to the SU taffeta colors? Are there any other place for taffeta ribbon (other than SU)?
I received another good sized order from ribbon retreat last week. I love shopping with them. The orders always arrive within a week after I place them and they've never messed up...ANYTHING. This is only my third order with them but definitely not my last.
The colors match as close as anyone should possibly want. They're close to a perfect match to me but color isn't an exact science as far as I'm concerned.
I've asked a few times but have never gotten a reply. What width is used most on standard sized cards? I ordered 3/8". I ordered different widths on white because I can always die it to match whatever I need.
If anyone ever wants to do a ribbon share or a ribbon club count me in. It would be a wonderful way to get different styles without having too much inventory.
That sounds good to me as long as y'all do the choosing. You all are seasoned stampers...you know your stuff. I figure if it's good enough for y'all it's good enough for me. I've actually been studying the SU catalog all morning. It's amazing how everything ties in together. (no pun intended)
If someone wants to organize, I'll pay with money order up front...or check...however anyone wants to set it up. Right now I have all gross grain ribbon...nothing really pretty. That's because I don't know how to pick it out. If anyone sets this up I hereby reserve my place. The gross grain is pretty...I just want a little variety.
I've attached the Excel spreadsheet originally created by RCarter - it has been updated to reflect new colors from RABOM (didja know they're having a sale until 4/13??)
Disclaimer: these matches were made by my untrained eye - they looked good to me, though.
I just went to Pink Hedgehog's website and they no longer have the matches available for Pale Plum & Perfect Plum and I noticed there is nothing on the list for Ribbon Retreat.
Any idea what colors match and where I can buy them?
Per a request on another thread, I found the following matches for the new SU In-Colors and The Ribbon Retreat's ribbon. I used the samples that I have from the Ribbon Retreat. I have most of them, but I may not have them ALL.
Melon Mambo: Shocking Pink (Schiff)
Crushed Curry: Gold (Schiff)
Dusty Durango: Rust (Schiff) is a little darker, but coordinates well IMO
Soft Suede: Khacki (Offray) is a little light, but coordinates well also
Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry: No matches (with the samples I have, anyway)
Does anyone think that the taffeta ribbon from http://www.wholesaleribboncarnival.c...taire-Poly.htm
could be dyed with SU reinkers to match the SU cardstock? I like the way it comes in several different widths and if you could dye it to match you would only have to get white.
I will check them out too. I love ribbon! There is a ribbon store in Long Beach CA. I went there last week but they changed a lot of things and don't have much of the printed ribbon. They mostly have solid colors. I have a granddaughter and three nieces who I like to make hair ribbons for too. These have been great finds!
