I am in the middle of wedding invitations and I ran out of ATG tape....so, after a day of searching for a local supplier (not Michael's) I am unable to find one. However, I did find about Tape Depot on this forum.
But, I am stuck and I had to go to Michael's last night to buy enough to get me through the next couple of days (wedding is in a week and half) and I need to finish the programs, place cards, escort cards etc. so I really have no choice. I nearly choked at the price and the staff at Michael's sure knows about it... $44.00 for 8 rolls of tape --- can you believe it?
I tried to purchase from Tape Depot on Ebay but, for some stupid reason Ebay does not like the free shipping (even though I live in Canada I have a USA address to use so I can take advantage of free shipping). I emailed Tape Depot and got a very fast response to call them and they would be happy to put it through for me.
I called them this morning and ordered two boxes of 12 each...and....found out they ship to Canada for free....yep girls...Tape Depot will ship to Canada FREE if you spend over $56.00. After I screamed in his ear and stopped yelling "yippee" I ordered two boxes and two rolls extra to get the free shipping AND I will have the tape in 3 days (hopefully). I guess Michael's will be getting a return to process!!!

I'm so glad Tape Depot came through for you. I always order from their ebay site, and have been very pleased with the fast service.
I know everyone is different when it comes to the products they buy and use. But when I see posts about people ordering "name brand" tape at high prices, I do wonder.
I got a couple of rolls of Scotch brand tape free when I bought the pink atg gun at Michaels. I honestly think I like the Tape Depot tape better than the name brand. I certainly like the price better.
I go through ATG tape pretty quickly. I make multiples whenever I make cards, and use the ATG gun to make altered composition books, which uses a lot of tape. I just got through making 19 books and bookmarks for Christmas gifts. I hate to think what I would have paid if I had gotten my tape at Michaels!

SWEET - thanks sooo much for sharing! I too live in Canada and called them to place my order. I ordered the 144 rolls. The gentleman I spoke with indicated that they would be revising their Canadian shipping policy and put the info on the web. It will include a free shipping amount. YEAH!
it is the reverse wound 1/4" I think it is the first choice on the picture page.
I get the 144 rolls at a time free shipping and I share with friends. You can also get them on ebay if you need a smaller amount too.

I want all companies who want my money to offer me FREE or some sort of special on shipping. I often order from places that offer free or a discount shipping to Canadians.
TAPE DEPOT you will have a loyal customer here if you continue Canadian free shipping!

I'm another happy Canadian who has ordered from The Tape Depot. The biggest thing to remember is to make sure they ship it USPS. This is their policy but sometimes they forget. :-) I have 11 rolls left which should last until the New Year. I'll be planning another order in January :-)

I confirmed that the order would come USPS AND that it was free shipping!
Will update on delivery time once my order arrives. It should have gone in the mail today. It's coming to Nova Scotia and we are VERY slow at receiving mail here so it could be a month to get it. Still happy with free shipping!

I might be brain dead, but are you the woman that I sold some tape to from my order a few months back and my husband delivered it to you in Dartmouth? I can look back in my emails to see but thought I'd send a quick note LOL!
Update: I did look and it was you. Maybe I'll have to check and see if you have any to sell before I order again come the New Year :-)

Yay for great customer service! I love the Tape Depot! They also took great care of me when we were stationed in Japan. So many American companies won't even ship to an American military address, but they did...and it was free just like they offer to others. Love their tape...and the great price!
Hi, How do you avoid brokerage fees when you order a large amount, to be shipped to Canada or do you pick up in USA ?
They don't seem to have revised their website yet, no free shipping to Canada that I could see.
So I have the new ATG pink gun.......I can only use 1/4 inch tape with it, I don't need non acid (card making) so which number tape should I be looking for? I got to their website, totally confused......
Thanks a bunch!!

Ask them when you order to send United States Postal Service. It arrives just like Canada Post. I was discussing on the phone with the man about shipping United Parcel Service and advising that we get dinged for brokerage fees here a whopping amount fro them. He said that I was not the first Canadian to request USPS - (very similar acronym to UPS so be sure to use the LONG name).
I would call their 1 -888 number from their website and speak to someone rather than trying over the internet.
The other website that is also associated with tape depot is Tape Jungle and I see that their website IS updated with free shipping.
The 1/4 " rolls are clearly indicated on their site - each tape has a dropdown for size requirements.
Is there a place to get this fancy tape gun for less than the $40 I saw at Michaels today? My jaw dropped when I saw how much it was. I don't have a business, I will just be a casual crafter. So I don't think I will need quite the quantity that you folks use. But I do want quality =)

Here it is today at Overstock, for $21.51 + $1 shipping, and you get two rolls of tape with it. That's a great deal.
you can use a coupon. I have seen them at acmoore for 34.99..use your 50% coupon and thats a better deal. you can get an off brand at the tape depot for 25 but I like the pink one better- well worth the money!
Thank you so much for that link! Why do I always forget to check Overstock? It's where I got my Bigshot for $59!
I was that way, too. Now I try to check there first for stamping stuff. You never know what they will have on sale. I've even found some nice clear stamp sets there for a great price. Plus, they have always shipped quickly for me.
