I already own a big shot and love what it can do but my space is very limited. I'm thinking of getting a CB...would I be wasting money? Also with my BS I can use the fiskars embossing templetes, can the CB do that?
Help! I hate having to make all these decisions. I guess I could sell my QK and BS on ebay if I got the CB.
From what I remeber from the monster cuttlebug thread some people were having trouble with those plates, that their machine was breaking. Someone correct me if I am wrong . . . .

I think only one person's machine actually broke. Likely a manufacturing defect since it seems to be an isolated case (at least here at SCS - and there's a lot of us!). For embossing w/ the Fiskars, it's not documented in Provo's CB booklet...but it is possible. (Brass templates aren't mentioned either and we're doing them too) It's a matter of what materials and combinations to use. A rubber mouse pad works okay, but I believe the Wizard Charm Embossing kit is working out better. Check about page 18-19 (maybe later, but that'll save you some time!) forward...and JulieHRR & Ellen have blogged about the CB extensively. Especially check Julie's as she has the BS & CB and was able to test them side by side. Ellen's will likely have more info on embossing as Julie mentioned she didn't have any embossing plates or brass. HTH!
The Bigshot and CB are comparable machines. It seems as if both machines perform similarly. The space savings is really a plus on the bug, but one drawback with the CB I've found is that the suction base needs to stick to a slick surface (counter without dings, not wood, etc). or you can hold the bug in place with your hand as you are rolling it. you'll have to decide if that is an important factor in your decision.
One person in the CB thread reported their machine broke, doing what I don't remember. Someone else (SereikaStamper? JanTink?) reported they knew three people whose CB had broken, one of whom was running some Fiskars Texture Plates through it. That was enough to get me to forget about the CB and start saving for the Big Shot!

yep I know of three people who have had it break apart when trying to send various items through....one it actually "exploded" broke, like a piece or two went flying....sooooooo although it is cute and small, there seem to be some drawbacks.....I have the Sizzix and I plan on just using the CB embossing folders in it....I will save my $$ and see if anyone else has the same issues as the others I know of...:???:

I put mine on a glass cutting mat and it has not budged, nor have I had to reset it in more than 2 weeks. HTH!
