Default *gasp* I bought a Cricut!

Yep, even though you didn't know you were doing it, you guys talked me into it...I got the last one at Joann's this morning. The sale sign said $189.99...when the cashier rang it up, it said $299.99! I said whoa -- isn't this on sale? She asked the manager, and he said since the sign was still up to go ahead and sell it for $189.99. Yippee!

I've signed up on the Cricut website to get the newsletter and visit the message boards, but I have a question. And I have searched for the answer but couldn't find it in the sea of Cricut threads! If I'm going to cut Stampin' Up cardstock, what should the settings be? I know someone (or many someones) has figured this out already...can you help me out?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on getting your bug! I have one and love it! I had to experiment with my settings. I think it depends on the position of your blade and how thick your card stock is. I know that my DD sets hers at a different setting than mine to achieve the same thing. So I think it just depends on your machine. Experiment on scraps of card stock until you get the cut you want. Some brands of card stock cut different than others. I use mostly SU and it works great!
You have catch the bug and let me warn you there is no cure, but it is one bug worth catching! Happy creating!

For the SU cardstock I use the blade setting on 6 and the pressure on 5. I know that one of my friends only uses her blade at 4 and the pressure on 4 for the same thing.

Good luck!! You are going to love it!! If you need cartridges creative express has them for $49.99 right now. I don't know when that sale ends, though.

I just got mine for Christmas too. Congrats to all of you. I have my settings on : pressure 4, Blade 6 and my speed at 1. I set it for the SU paper and the George Cartridge. Not sure if I will have to change my settings differently for each cartridge but I know I will have to change the settings for different card-stock.

I heard on the demo thread that Wal-Mart has it for $100 right now. You should check it out & return yours if they do. Then you could get a free cartridge.

They also said 12 new cartridges are coming out in January! Yippee!!!
