acrylic post-it stands?
Hi-
I'm new to split coast stampers and I saw the great gift idea for post-it stands. Does anyone know where I can get them? It almost looks like an acrylic picture frame with post its attached to the front of the frame?
Please give input! THANKS!
Diane

Hi Diane,
You are exactly right. It is an acryllic picture frame with a post-it note pad on the front. You can find them almost anywhere.

There is a tutorial on how to make these if you go to "Resources" (at the top right of the page), then "Projects", and scroll down to "Acrylic Post-It Note Holder". (or you can click here.)
ps-Welcome to SCS, smiley diane!

I got my acrilic frames at Michaels and Big Lots, both places had them for $2 and under. They are so much fun to make and see the reactions of people to whom I give them to. I bet you could find them at Target and Walmart also. Good luck.

Wal Mart used to sell them for under a dollar. they are acrylic picture frames and are with the other photo frames. I have purchased them at Target also. The Target frames are of better qialuty but the WalMart frames are cheaper and do just fine.

I'm having trouble finding frames that are 5X7. I can find 4X6 easy at walmart, but the 5X7's are made the wrong way. The X7 is up and down, know what I'm talking about? I hope so. I did find the right kind at Hobby Lobby for $2.49 each, but I bought all they had (6) and they have never gotten in a new supply.
Thanx for listening....Jodi

I use the 4 X 6 frames. My local Target recently lowered their price to 96 cents, which matches Walmart's price.

I just assumed that they would be too small to get the post-it and stamped image on it. Well, you learn something new everyday. Thanx

I too used the 4x6 and swithched the post it pad to a mini pad....this made a great fun camp item....My husband drilled a hole in the top left corner and I inserted my pen there. we attached some funky fiber and ribbon to the butt of the pen, and it too became a popular item.

The 4 X 6 works fine; just use a smaller image. For example, the flower with stems from Natural Beauty fits perfectly. (Tall and narrow.)

I purchased the following from Wal-Mart:
plastic frames for 87 cents each,
R.S.V.P. (refillable) pens - $2.50 for a package of 5
Their brand of post-its - package of 4 for $1.97
rubber cement for $2.35
I've made 12 note holders using the rubber cement & so far none of the pads have fallen off. I tried just using the notes themselves but that didn't work for me. These really are lots of fun to make.

I love making these. For my craft show I made seasonal inserts, so they can change them with pens to match. We will see how well they sell next month.

Is there anything besides rubber cement? I would like to use something that will allow me to glue on another pad after the first is pad is done.

Hi Sherri:
I have tried several glues but found that rubber cement works best for me. In fact you can add another note pad when the old one is used up - just pull the backing off. If you haven't made these, be prepared - they're addictive. I've made one for everyone I could think of. Good luck
P.S. a couple of things make me smile: my oldest daughter is named Sherri & I share a common ancestor with Harry S. Truman (way far back so we would be about 200th cousins)
