I am starting to work on my Christmas cards. I thought of trying to make wolf tracks like look like he is walking in the snow. Any ideas? I haven't done much embossing, will that technique work? Or is there something better?
Not sure what your base color is for your card, but you might try the faux embossing.....using one color of classic ink, then the white craft stamped almost on top of it. There is a tutorial, I believe, in the resources section. HTH
You might try sprinkling white embossing powder on the paper, begin heating it on the underside of the paper (so the ep doesn't blow away) then on top to finish melting it, then while the powder is still hot stamp the paw print in it with a coordinating ink. That way it'd look like prints in the snow.
If you just want white paw prints, then plain embossing would work. Or what about flocking? I've never tried that. Does it come in white?
Thanks for the ideas, I was thinking of going with neutral/earth colors. I know they are not traditional Christmas colors. I will have to look up flocking, not sure what that is.
Well, I tried the embossing, don't like that. It doesn't help that I'm not very good at it. I like things that other people emboss, but mine never look the same.
I ordered some fun flock, so I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for the ideas ladies.
another idea if your background paper is a vibrant or darker color....you can chalk up the cardstock with white chalk (fairly heavily) and then stamp with versamark ink. It will remove the chalk only where you stamp....I always just seal with hair spray....

That's a neat idea. I'll have to try it sometime. I've done Poppin' Pastels, but didn't know that you could remove chalks with Versamark.
You could get a piece of white foamfrom the craft section of the store and cut the shape you want. You heat it with a heat gun and take your footprint stamp and press it into the foam while it's still warm.
Ok so I know you said you didn't want to emboss but I think I might have something you may like that wouldn't take perfect embossing. I saw this not that long ago and loved the effect. The idea is to emboss black on black and then rub a brillance moonlight pad across the embossing to really make the the paper all shimmery. You could also do it with other colors I'm sure but I thought it just looked awesome. Here is a link to a gal's blog that shows it scroll down and it's the middle lion on the bottom. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-.tQhS...ni72Q.NvfxsoZW
Well, I went a different route with my Christmas Cards. I just couldn't figure out to to do it. I tried everything that was mentioned. Maybe I just don't have enough experience. I do appreciate all the advise and I will keep trying and maybe next year I will be able to make the cards with wolf prints in the snow.
