Default tearing and folding

I know in theory it is easy but to make it look real good is a different story. I want to tear my paper then fold it over ever so slightly to give it that aged, ripped look and I was wondering if anyone new of a good tutorial or site that shows how this is done in detail. I am a visual person and follow steps real well but I just want some hints to perfect it. Anyone? Thanks.

if you just tear your cardstock towards you and then lay the cardstock onto your workspace with the torn side facing you. Just turn that edge a little bit, so that you can now stretch your fingers out onto the torn edge - like when we were kids and would roll a length of plasticine; roll it till it grabs ... back and forth a little till it holds nicely. Then you can brush an inkpad along it to make it more emphasized.
