Default stamping on cookies

I read some where that if you use a damp paper towel with a few drops of food coloring and then your clear or rubber CLEAN stamps...you can stamp on a cookie that has been frosted with royal icing (once the icing has set)......Anyone try this? Id love to try and I probably will but wondered if anyone has done this and can give me some helpful tips before I try.

Yes I do this for all most every holiday I just take a new stamp for just food and put a few drops of food coloring on a foam plate. Then tap my stamp ont to it like a ink pad. Then on to the cookie that has been frosted and set up. I use my butter cream or royal. Have fun stamping

I made dinner mints with cream cheese and stamped an image on them. It was fun and easy to do.

That's a cool idea. But I could see it going...stamp a cookie...eat a cookie...stamp a cookie...eat a cookie...for me anyway. Unless they have coconut in them then they would all get stamped, maybe embellished.

I hear ya!
This sounds like a neat idea, though...Darlene, what kind of icing did you use? Next time would you mind taking a pic and sharing?!
