Default SIMPLE Ribbon Tying Tip!

Ok...maybe this has been mentioned before but I saw a few posts in the gallery where someone mentioned wrinkling a paper trying to tie the ribbon, or slipping and ripping something....etc.

Here is what I do when I want a ribbon tied around a paper or scrap...etc...

Tie the ribbon around any handy stamp block where the circumference is larger than the length of the paper you want it to be around...pull the knot or bow as TIGHT as you like so it will never come undone. Slide it off the block (jar, bottle, etc) and snip the back of the loop...now you have a straight ribbon that you can adhere each end underneath your paper with glue dots or whatever you normally use.

I often do this free hand...no block...just tie the ribbon knot first and then glue each end underneath whatever I want it to *go around*.

This eliminates the problem of trying to get a solid knot around a flimsy sheet of paper.

HTH someone.

That IS a great idea! I always have such trouble tying knots or making bows. I will definitely remember this one. Thank you.

Great tip - I do this all the time also. Otherwise, my cards would be bow free for the most part. I blame it on being left handed, but I know that is just an excuse. This works every time for me.

Great Tip! I never would have thought of that and I usually leave bows off cause yes they are too hard to tie.
I will definately use this tip.

Thanks for sharing!
