Default Separating CS into Thin Layers

Good Morning!
I've seen cards where the cardstock was separated into thinner layers for an aged/crinkled appearance and was wondering how it was done... anyone know how to do this?..... What CS works best for this technique? Any directions would be appreciated..... It's too early to call my demonstrator!

Thanks so much, Debbie

Well, I've been shown two different ways to do this. The first way I was shown was to cut your cs (SU! is what I've always used) to your desired size, then ball it up continuously until the cs starts to separate. The, gently pull it apart. This will give the crinkled look to it.

The second way is to cut your cs to desire size, then start to rub your bone folder on it like you curl curly ribbon. It will begin to separate, then you pull it apart gently. This gives you a smooth appearance.

HTH!!

Another method would be to run your cardstock through your crimpper over and over again, until the fibers have been broken down and the layers are easy to split. I use stampin' up cardstock.

Drag the piece of cards stock across your bone folder over and over again.....like you are curling ribbon.

I spritz my piece with water and wad it into a ball, unwad, re-wad. Spread out to dry. Then run it over a sharp counter edge (or bone folder) and start peeling it from one corner. If it is completely dry it separates really well--you get two useable pieces.
