I have seen a few candles done with scrapbooking paper and I was wondering what most of you do to hide the seam when the 2 edges of the paper meet up. All suggestions greatly appreciated.
What you will need:
Tissue Paper
Stamp Set
Markers
Scissors
Inks (black or cocoa work well)
Wax paper
Pillar Candle (White or Cream Work Best)
Heat Embossing Tool
1.) Stamp on to the tissue paper, works best if you place a piece of computer/printer paper to stamp. Color as you would normally. Trim around stamped areas.
2.) Hold the tissue paper to the candle with the wax paper. Make sure that the image is straight and centered on the candles surface. I find it best to use a longer piece of wax paper and pinch it around back so as to make it tight.
3.) Use the heat embossing gun until you can see that the tissue paper image has melted into the candle and that first layer of wax from the Wax paper has melted into the candle.
4.) Carefully remove the wax paper. Your tissue paper image should remain melted into the candle face!

What about trying ribbon or something around it so that it hides it? Would that work? You could put the ribbon behind the cardstock and tie it in front.
Thanks for the ribbon idea. No it's not about getting a photo onto a candle although I wouldn't mind knowing how to do that as well if you want to share that one.
This case was just how to hide the seams that paper makes when you wrap it around the candle. Was just looking for ideas on how to hide it.
Getting a Photo on to a candle (easier than it sounds)
You will need a computer with printer for this one.
Choose the picture you wish to emboss.
Copy and paste to Word or other software.
Click print to see what size and where it will print on the paper
Adjust if need be
Cut a piece of tissue paper that is a little larger than the picture size
Tape the outter most edges to the printer paper and line it up so that the picture will print on to the tissue paper. (sometimes you will need to play with your printer settings just to be sure you get the picture printed on the tissue paper and that the paper is fed correctly.)
Print
Trim the taped edges off the image and line it up on the candle.
Wrap wax paper around to hold the image steady ( As i wrote above get a longer piece of paper and pinch it into place with your left hand.)
Heat emboss till you see it melt into the surface
Carefully remove the wax paper.
You can also print out names and dates, images to correspond to the event depicted in the photo to "scrap" the candle and make it a memory candle.
Enjoy!
Amy

I print photos onto vellum from my printer, and then do the normal procedure for stamping on candles. Black and white wedding photos look particularly spectacular on white pillar candles!
To hide the seams when you wallpaper, you tear the paper. The "line" where one piece ends and the next one starts disappears. I would think this would work with applying paper to candles too.
Only alternative that I can think of would be to put something OVER the seam - beads, buttons, cut outs. Depends on the theme of the overall piece. sab
When I put photos on a candle, I hide the seam by adding wax:
I wrap the photo with wax paper and heat for 10 seconds or so, keeping the heat tool moving at all times. Gently pull of the wax
At this point the photo is NOT properly adhered to the candle.
I repeat with the wax paper 5 or 6 times. At this point, a very thin layer of wax is added to the candle over the photo to hold the photo on each time. During this process, wax fills in around the seams of the photo and voila no seam.
