Default Question about "YES" paste...

I am using this product on large paper mache hat boxes-covering them with white paper. I have never used YES before-is it supposed to be REALLY thick? Like, I have to dig it out of the container with a wooden stick and then spread it on the paint brush in order to apply it to the boxes??? The container says it may be thinned with some warm water, but I hesitate to water it down because I don't want it to "warp" the paper mache boxes. It seems to be drying ok.........any thoughts? Any tricks to applying it in a thin layer? Thanks!

Default You will want to use a small amount and spread it thin.

I use an old gift card to spread it out. Yes, it won't warp you paper. I really like this product. Just remember to spread it thin.

I used to use this all the time for my cards before I found the tape I liked.....I just added the water right into the yes container. Loved that stuff.

I love YES paste too. I use it for ATC's and inchies. I also use old gift cards to apply a VERY Thin layer. Then I use my brayer to get the paper to lay flat.

Default Must add water

I used Yes glue for many, many years when it was called another name. I used it to apply miniature wallpaper. I does not bubble up and it lays so nicely flat. Mix a bit of warm water to the jar and stir well. Keep adding water until it is workable, but not thin. Should spread well.

Thank you for the information, ladies! I think I will put some YES in a cup, and add a few drops of water.........and see what happens! The boxes still look great this morning-I feared waking up to a wrinkled-mess! :-)
Your galleries are all awesome! And I must ask, what is an inchie??? :-)

You can mix the warm water in the jar itself. Then it will be at the right consistency whenever you use it! Good Luck!
