Default Paper Layering Technique??

I got a card in a swap last spring/summer and it says it uses the "paper layering technique"...I've tried to contact the stamper who made it for directions and haven't had any luck. So, I thought I'd ask here. I'm attaching a photo of the card where it's used.

I'd like to use this technique when making my wedding invitations so I'm anxious to try it out.

If anyone could help, I'd be greatful!

:-)

Default not completely

The vase and flowers look like they have glassy glaze on them. The vase is bent in on both sides and it's very 3D. Oh, the vase has a little sheen to it as well.

Do they mean:

You stamp your image twice. First on your background paper, then the second time on a piece of decorative paper or another piece of plain paper. Then you cut out portions of the second stamped image to layer on top of the first image--to give them dimension.

So in the case of this card they might have layered the vase and the blooms?

I'm honestly not sure and wish the picture did the card justice. It's almost like the flowers and vase are made with shrinky dink "paper"...but I'm pretty sure they're not.

I think part of it is this technique but maybe to get the glazed look it was embossed clear ... kwim? ;)

I think that the "paper layering technique" merely refers to the layers of blue and red cardstock/paper.
The vase and flowers look like they were done with a shiny product like "Glossy Accents" (by Ranger) or "Crystal Effects" (by Stampin' Up). It's easy to use. Just stamp and color your image first. Then spread this product on (like glue). It dries hard and shiny.
