Angelnorth,
Thank you very much for pointing us in the right direction. Much appreciate it. I knew it could be done, just needed the right steps... You Rock!

Thank you Kate for this template... Did not read thru the thread after Angelnorth's post, so I just now saw this. You've taken the guess work out, it was very sweet of you to share.

Thanks to all who made the suggestions to make the script circle and other shapes through Word Art. I did it in just seconds...but it took your pointing me in the right direction. Thanks so much. This is just one of a zillion reasons why I love SCS! Serving one another....too cool.
Thanks so much, Kate!! You took all the work out of this process. I am using this right now to make a card for a church member in the hospital!! I'll be back to post it when I'm done!!
For anyone using Office 2007, the directions on how to do this are a little different. Here is how to do it. Click on the Insert tab. On the right side you will see Word Art (with a blue tilted A) in the text section. Click on the arrow and select any of the text options. When its inserted on your page you will see a new tab at the top called WordArt Tools Format. In the second section, called WordArt Styles, you will see that blue A again. Click on the arrow next to it. A box will pop up and the first option is Follow Path. Click on the full circle (or half if that is what you want) and your text will be put in a circle. Now you can edit it and do anything else you want. HTH
Thanks everyone for sharing the wonderful links posted. I added a couple of them to My Favorites for ease in finding them when I'm ready. I've done the text in circles on a variety of cards and have used Word Art in both Word and Publisher. Once you get it down and get your document saved you can go in and edit the words. Beats having to find circle text stamps with just the right words.
I like!! Very nice. Thanks for sharing your creation. I played a bit and will hopefully make a card later using one of my FAVE sayings: "Drink Coffee: Do Stupid Things Faster and With More Energy!!"

Even though I have Word Viewer, I couldn't see these instructions. But I did something similar and just used Word. Someone in my office helped me, but We changed the text to an oval shape and I kept working on it to make a circle. I am so computer iliterate that I can't even explain it clearly! But you don't need fancy software if you have Word.
I was just cruising through this thread and thought I'd play. I just got a new iMac and I purchased OfficeMac and I was wondering what the WordArt was for. Now I know. Then as I was playing I couldn't figure out how to get the words inside the template that is UNTIL the instruction of right clicking and voile I could type in a circle. Then in this program I didn't realize there were other looks as I didn't like the open look and so I clicked on elegant and it changed the look. Oh thank you, thank you for some more fun in my stamping. Can't wait to try this. Hmmmm, haven't designed my March CHRISTmas cards yet. Merry Christmas to you (sung to Happy Birthday). I think I better go to bed!
Thanks for blessing my day!

Yippee! I edited it at work then emailed it home. Copied and pasted into my works file, and was able to make some really cute "wooden nickles" for the kids who won spirit week prizes. They're getting free ice creams. I am always leery of giving just computer generated coupons for them to redeem in the cafeteria (they're too computer saavy and that would be too easy for them to replicate!) so I used this and the scallop punch!
to make a circle: microsoft word INSERT > WORDART Select the half circle shape with simple black letters (usually the 3rd in the top row). In the box that appears, choose your font and size, the type your test and click ok. Click on your words to select them (puts a box around them). Click the wordart Shape button (probably on the bottom towards the right)., and choose the circle (curve) from the menu of shapes. the words will appear misshapen. Again click on your test (box) to select it, and go to FORMAT > WORDART. click the size tab and enter the height and width (Set them the same for a circle). Next click the colors and lines tab. Under FILL, select a color for your type, under LINE selecet NO LINE. click ok. loisjp
Open MS Word
Select Insert
Then Picture
Then Word Art
Type sentiment in font and colors desired
From Word Art Toolbar select "Shape" option
Click on circle (or desired shape)
Stretch and size as desired
Format under Word Art Toolbar "Format Word Art" to add colors and equalize size (if desired)
Thanks so much for all of the help in this thread. I have been trying to figure out how to print in a circle and I couldn't do it on my own. You guys rock!.

CIRCULAR TEXT
1 Open a new document in Microsoft Word. Note: Be sure the Drawing Toolbar is displayed.
2 Select WordArt button to display the WordArt toolbar (tilted blue A on the Drawing Toolbar).
3 Select the curved text style, then type the desired phrase in the box.
4 Select the ABC button on the WordArt Toolbar and select the Arch Up shape. Click and drag the squares around the text to form the top of a circle.
5 To create the bottom half of the circle, repeat Steps 24. Note: In Step 4, select the Arch Down shape.
6 To change the height and width of each circle half, select Format WordArt on the WordArt Toolbar; click the Size tab.
This is GREAT!! I didn't even know this was something I could do. Thanks you for the info!! What a nice help............and thanks for the easy way of enlarging the text! WAY COOL>
I don't know if my reply is too late for interest, but I'm a retired graphic designer and from my experience, the easiest way to create text around a circle is by using a drawing program such as Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Illustrator. Using WordArt in Microsoft Word of Microsoft Publisher is easy enough to create, but I find it very difficult to keep the size of the circle under control. I believe there are other software programs like PrintShop that allows you to create text along the circle confines, and they are considerably less expensive than Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Illustrator. With that said, my reply probably isn't much help, but from viewing the sample card that the original poster linked, I'd say that the text around the circle in the sample was generated by PaintShop Pro or Adobe Illustrator.

Thank You so Much for the wonderful instructions. I had no idea I could do that in Word. With you help, I just printed out a page of circle words on White CS! I'm going to try Publisher next!
Open a new image.
Click on precut shapes
Draw an ellipse (circle or oval as you want)
Click the text symbol on left (A)
Place curser inside ellipse somewhere near the top line - the cursor shows A with a little arc by it
Click and type your text and click OK
If your text is in the wrong place you can click the deformation tool and you can move and rotate it.
Click apply in the tool options window
Then you need to remove the circle/ellipse you first drew by right clicking on the ellipse layer in the layer palette and choose delete from the menu.
Then to set the text go to Selections, Select None.

This worked perfect for me!!! TFS I'm off to build some cards. Really appreciate the help.
I have a program that is super user friendly called "Print Artist".....you've probably heard of it. It has the capability to do most anything. It's really easy to make your text into a circle if you type your text then go into "effects". You can get print artist online since it can be tricky to find at the store. I have had mine forever and use it ALL the time!
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
This site she shared is unique, (BELOW) I couldn't figure it out the first time this post came around, but had to try it again. It doesn't require any special program to create a message in a circle. Go into the party planner, enter on text, highlight and delete that original text and type in anything else you want to
create for a card, enter on print. I can make one original, go to my scanner, make duplicates by copying and pasteing- for one full page of circle art verses, print for future use on cards. I'm so glad I tried it again, and it's FREE TO ALL
QUOTE=BabyNurse;8996333]Go to this site. You can not only print in a circle you can several other things. It took me just a little bit to figure it out but it is lots of fun after you do.
