Mandy, I love your cards with the mandy technique. Did you use classic or craft inks? I know you can move craft inks around, it is thicker and longer drying time. Also spots or full size? I wish I could get my backgrounds to look like yours...they look like a faux finished wall or wallpaper, excellent! thank you in advance have a great day.

I just used classic inks. I have used both full size and spots to do this technique in the past...although I prefer the full size pads.

It is such an easy technique...I promise once you try it you'll be a pro at it. Even my daughter who is 10 uses this technique

I tried this new technique and really like it but I have the ink pad lines from it hitting the paper in the center.or when I am swirling it around.how do you stop it from getting the lines. (EDGES OF THE INK PAD).

Mandy,
Thanks so very much for sharing. I had to print out your example with instructions so I can take a "stab" at it. Does it matter if it's regular card stock or glossy white?

I don't think it would work on glossy, I just use cardstock. Both colored or white cardstock will work

Have fun!

Smile A title for Mandy's technique

Hi Mandy,

How about Magic Swirl or Mandy's Magic Swirl? It's got a ring to it.

Great card and technique.

FYI my local Archivers was demoing a card using what LOOKS like this technique! Look at the classes on their website to see! Here is the copy from the class....

Stamp a stitched look onto four colorful and sparkly cards, perfect for any occasion! At this workshop, youll discover a paper-piercing and stamping technique to create a stitched effect, and a cool ink-rubbing technique for a summer-ready weathered look. Plus, learn embossing, and paper-tearing techniques, too! Add Hero Arts stitched-flower stamps, button embellishments, and sparkly mica glitter that pops against the inked shimmer cardstock, and youve got four cards that are fun to give and create!

When I read/saw this I thought of this thread right away! Cool huh!

Make sure your fingers are all on the side of the pad, do not press too hard, and keep going in circular motion until it is blended well.

Later this week I am going to post a tutorial with pictures on my blog. I will put a link here when I get it done

Other than that, just keep practicing my club members have become pros at this, because we do it so much.
