negative embossing

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me in finding out how to get the ink to go onto to embossing folders when doing the negative embossing technique. I tried it with different inks, but can't get a smooth even look without blotches. Thanks for any help you can offer!

I use a brayer. Ink up the brayer well and go over the embossing folder several times and several ways, inking as you need to. Remember to ink the negative side of the folder. If you do lighter colros, you won't get so much "blotching".
