Need help with balloon background tech.
I am attempting to duplicate the cool balloon background technique that was used in TLC75, but it isn't working for me. I filled the balloon with pasta, stretched it as tight as I could get it, and tied it off. When I press the balloon onto the ink pad and then press it onto the card stock, I am getting a big oval blob from just the balloon. I am trying to stretch the balloon as much as I can, but still getting the blob. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?!

I find that balloon backgrounds work best for me if I blow up the balloon several times before filling... stretching the rubber so that it is really relaxed. You can do the same type of look using saran wrap as well.... allowing it to 'mold' around whatever you are using for your texture. Hope this helps. Have a FUNtastic day! Dancing Rain |
Welcome aalbertson! The balloon background technique was used by Beth for TLC75 (weekly Technique Lover's Challenge).
