Default Kissing help

How do you get a kissed stamp to have enough ink? I keep trying to really ink up the background stamp, but by the time I kiss the other stamp and get it to the paper, the ink is very faded.

I'm looking to create bold images like this one (thanks for the good sample, JanTInk):

but it ends up looking like I stamped off at least once.

I've tried huffing both the background and the kisser, but no luck improving the image.

Try using a brayer to apply the ink to the background stamp - that usually helps me get a better/darker image. Also, it can't hurt to reink your pad right before you kiss!! ;-)

You could try craft ink, it doesn't dry as fast so it doesn't look as faded after kissing.

Try inking up the base and stamping it onto the background.
Craft ink & a Brayer might be the best answer.
PM the person who made the card and ask them what they did. They usually will tell you.
Good Luck

Thanks for the ideas, guys!

I think I will pm the card maker.

I was using the same Paisley b/g she was using , with a much smaller alphabet stamp today and I just couldn't get much ink to transfer at all. I don't know why I didn't think of the brayer...I've used it for a nice even coating of the background stamp before. I'll have to give it a try again.

I also thought about the craft ink. I'll give it a try on a different project, as I was using Cranberry...so no craft :-(

Has anyone ever tried inking the background AND inking the "kisser"? Does it yeild enough difference in the pattern? Maybe if you stamp off the kisser and then stamp it on the background.

I feel an experiment coming on...
I had to put away all my stuff for the week since we've got other things going on, but I'll give all these ideas a try when I get stampin again.

.

What about inking the stamp up with Versa Mark then brayer the ink over it. Might make it a stronger concentration like Craft ink.
