Default Just Journaling with Templates...

Is there a trick to this set? I don't get how you're supossed to use the templates with the stamp...the rubber doesn't go into the hole in the template...or does it?

Anyone? Anyone?

Place your templete where you want it and stamp the lines in the middle of the templete. You'll have to push a little harder than normal to get the lines to touch your paper. I'm not sure I explained that very well.
Hope it helped a little.

Ink up your stamp, then lay the template onto the cardstock or paper you are stampin onto, then stamp on top of your template and the cardstock together. only the outline of the shape of your template will be stamped onto your paper or cardstock. The template kind of acts like a mask so that the stamped lines will be the shape of your template on your paper or cardstock. got it? I love that set!!!

Default Love the lines...

I too thought this would be a good set to have. I have found that I love the lines by themselves but it is a pain to get the templates to make a nice even shape. On cards you can always start over but when you are doing a scrapbook page, it is frustrating to not get good lines.. :?

I'm just not getting nice clean lines...I've stood up and applied what I think is appropriate pressure...no luck!

Thanks ladies! I'll just keep trying!

I have wondered how this worked and so now I see...I wonder if you can do the same thing but with thinner templates? How thick are the templates? I have the set of journaling lines that are just the stamps...can't remember the name right now...perhaps I will try those with other shape templates that I have!

I am very unhappy with this set. No matter how hard I worked at it I couldn't get a clean look. I asked my demo to return it but they wouldn't let her. She could only return it for the exact same thing. They told her no one else had ever had this problem! I love the Stampin Up products but the customer service on the part of the company is much worse than any retail store.

Keri,
I think thinner templetes would work better. The ones that come with it are a little too thick. I'll have to try it with some of my "thin" templetes and see what happens.

You'll get a better impression with the templates if you place something soft underneath the cardstock when you're stamping your lines. Use a mousepad or the soft paper piercing mat that comes with the new crafter's toolkit. I guarantee you'll like this set when you do that!
