I'm going to assume you are talking about the ones with the scalloped edges. They are giga punches made by mcgil I believe and are super hard to find due to the fact they are back ordered. You can make decorative craft scissors work with a square but I find it almost impossible for me to achieve. Again you can use a punch.
The punches are actually made by Marvy Uchida...at least the ones that are "popular" around here. They come in different sizes...giga, mega, super, etc. The giga is the biggest, followed by the mega. These seem to be the ones that are most used.
The punches come in a variety of shapes, but the ones that have caught attention are the scalloped oval, scalloped circle, regular oval, regular circle. As well as the scalloped square punches.
I got mine from www.morethanink.com They are really great! I've heard that there is a backorder problem across the board (doesn't matter what company) right now.
I cut out my scalloped circles and squares with my Cricut....cool because you can get all different sizes too...
hi,
i was wondering what's the name of the cartridge you used to cut out the scalloped shapes? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for starting this topic TheAfricanQueen. One of my co-workers asked me yesterday if i could do "thank you" tags for her wedding. So i figured the scalloped style would look really nice.
I too have been wondering how the scalloped circles are made for cards that have been posted.
I saw somewhere online directions for making a scalloped circle doile-sized circle using a non-circle punch. Unfortunately, I didn't print out the directions then and now I can't find it. It had something to do with aligning the stamp with a template OR lines that you drew on the back side of the paper. Has anyone else seen this site and be willing to share the address?
I haven't heard about the Planet Punch can you tell us more. Is it the same as a scalloped oval punch like the one I got online from CRAFTER'S TOY BOX SCRAPBOOKING SUPPLIES, or is yours different.
Me again sorry I didn't read your comment correctly. I went to the gallery and found a card with the planet punch. I have one that does a doilie like circle and mine is frome Fiskars.
well i went out and got a cuttlebug today cause i just loved the embossing folders they have and i also got die cuts-scalloped shapes in square and round.
To make squares even on all sides with a scalloped edge I recommend using a paper trimmer with a scalloped edge. For example I have the cutterpede trimmer and I purchased a scalloped edge blade for it. This creates scalloped edges that are even on all sides.
