Default Help with Prismas!

This is the second time I bought Prismas I am having a hard time...lol...first time I bought the Thin ones and they are hard lead they scratched my paper....today I went and traded them for the Colored Pencils but I am not sure if those are to be used with a blender pen and that what I like to do....I didnt see any Watercolor Prismas.....I dont want to use the gamsol....Does anyone know if the Colored pencils can be used with a blender pen??? I hate the fact I have to sharpen all these....wonder why they dont sharpen them??? Thanks for any help you can give me

I only sharpen mine one at a time as I need it, if that helps. If you don't want to use gamsol, I've heard a rumor that baby oil works (just a dab will do)...or you could try a Prismacolor blending pencil. I believe that the blender pens are just for markers, but I could be wrong about that.

There are so many ways to use the Prisma pencils that don't require the Gamsol. The first is just of course to color - select three different variations of a color and just play with layering one color on top of the next. Many of the images in my gallery on my blog are colored this way. The colorless blender pencil works beautifully for smoothing out your colors and the Prisma clear blender does work similar to the Gamsol on your color images as well. I have a section of my blog (green link below) dedicated to color pencil techniques. When you arrive at my blog - look at the categories section on the left and click on the "Tips and Techniques" section. Then scroll down that page until you arrive at the color pencil information.
