finger tapping technique

I was scanning the today's additions and saw a great card that used the 'finger tapping' technique. Tried to look it up but haven't found it, anyone know what it is?
Thanks so much!

I just watched an old "Matlock" show where they were fingerprinting everyone. We don't want to do that!
A google search brings up a long list of "finger tapping technique" articles... all related to guitarists.
Yup! Better PM the card creator.

I think this is what you are requesting. At convention, I think it was Brent Steele who showed this technique (or maybe it was Spencer). Anyway, ink up a background stamp. Lay it on it's wood and place your cardstock on top. Cover with a piece of scrap paper. Rather than using the heel of your hand to get a good transfer of image, just tap your fingers on top sporadically over the scrap paper covering the BG stamp. This gives you a light transfer just where your fingers hit. Where your fingers did not hit will leave blank space.

Did I confuse you?
