I did a search but didn't find any "FAUX" polished stone technique if there is such a thing? I don't have any reinkers, so is there any way to do this technique some other way?? Thanks so much!

I don't know if you are making cards or what but, here are the directions my demo. gave me during a card making class, and they turn out really nice.
1)Stamp your image onto glossy white using Basic Black ink. Set this aside to let dry. 2)After image is dry, take a couple of cotton balls and saturate them in rubbing alcohol. 3)Take the re-inkers and drop two drops on the cotton ball. If you are using more than one color (which we did) make two drops on your cotton ball with each re-inkers. It will look like a domino with the 4 spots. So the top will have color #1 then #2, and under those same spots, color #2 then color #1. Hope that makes sense. 4)DAB the cotton ball all over the glossy card stock that you stamped your image on. If you rub, the colors could get muddy and too blended together. Just keep dabbing till you get the look you desire. 5)Once this is dry mount it on your cardstock that you are using for your card. 6) Then you can add whatever you want to your card, ribbon or whatever. This is the only way I can do these cards without them getting to blended. If you have any questions PM my and I will try to answer them. Cindy |
Duh, I just saw that you don't have re-inkers. Hobby Lobby has them and the brand name is Adirondack. You get 3 bottles of ink for $8.99 and they had a 40% off coupon is Sundays paper so you would get them at a great price.

I seem to remember some people making their own alcohol inks with Rit dye a few years ago. If you do a Google search you should be able to find info on it.
