Default Embossing Paste Residue

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to remove embossing paste residue from brass stencils?

On every demo I've seen, you should put your stencil in water immediately after you take it off the project.

That being said, have you tried soaking in water for a while, them maybe that will loosen the paste enough to scrub it off with a soft brush.

It is so important to get the stencil in water. You might want to email the manufacturer to see what they recommend. There is probably something that will break down the residue but won't harm the stencil.

I have see Polly from Polly's Pals demo stencils and paste several times.
Immediately after embossing, she puts the stencil in water and simple green.
She scrubbed the stencil with a nail brush then dried it in a terry cloth towel.
I don't know haw to get dried paste off.

Try rubbing alcohol. I don't know if it will take dried paste off, but worth a try. Good luck.

I lay the stencil flat on the counter (to keep from warping it), and scrub gently with a scubbie side of a dish sponge. I too, use a stencil several times working quickly and then straight into a dish of water.

I bought a DVD from Dreamweaver called "Dreamweaver Down Unver" from Julie Makela and she puts 100% all vegatable soap on her stencil. She used the stencil with JAC paper and soap keepts the stencil from sticking to the paper. But a plus side is that the embossing paste doesn't stick if you soap up both sides of the tempate. This card using Dreamweaver paste and template on JAC paper with Memories Mist and glitter. (first time trying to add a picture, hope this works!)

All my stencils that I used with embossing paste are scratched because even with putting the stencil directly into water with simple green, sometimes the paste won't come off. I use my scotch brand sponge with the scratchy stuff on the back. Gets the paste off but does scratch the template.
