Default Chalk-type pads

I got four chalk stamp pads and I'm not sure what I should be doing with them. My attempts so far do not show off what it is that make the chalk pads distinctive. Have you had some good results? Do you have a photo you could share? Or some suggestions? I have two different shades of a sandy brown and two different shades of a mediterranean blue. (I think you can guess what I was going for.)

What is the effect you were expecting, exactly? I end up using my chalk pads just like any other pads, if they are the color I want, I use them. They are just nice, soft, opaque colors to me. I haven't really done any "special effects" or anything.

The brown ones are great for colouring the edges of an image or card.

This doesn't really show much, but I used a chalk ink for the sentiment on this one...it's just a little softer than a regular ink would be, maybe?

Carmellia....The chalk ink pads will give a softer effect to the stamped image. They are best used on less detailed stamps. Using on a detailed stamp will not be as crisp a stamped image.

I use them for many images and also use them for edging the card too.

I thank you all for your comments and your examples. I wish I had that giraffe stamp!

I will do some experimenting. My idea was to do an island in the mediterannean. If I come up with something that is worth showing, I will.

I belong to a card swap that is also a cat club. There has to be at least one stamped cat image on every card. So, I just have to figure out how to get a cat on an island in the mediterannean.

Sounds cool, I'd love to see that card!
I'd be happy to send you some stamped giraffes! Just PM me your address and what ink you'd like (Memento black, SU Black, Versafine black, or something else)...

Well, here I go again having to show my computer illiteracy. Lynn, I would love to PM my address to you for some giraffe images, but I don't know what PM is. Or maybe I do and just don't know it.

Would you like some images in return? I have a couple of cat balloon stamps that are really cute stamped on vellum and then colored on the back. I would be happy to send you some if you send me your address.
