Default Can anyone help with this technique?

HI! I am fairly new at stamping and I am pretty sure I read somewhere about a technique that you use on glossy paper. You use your brayer and bray your paper and them use a certain ink pad on your stamp and the stamp just pulls off the color? Any ideas of what this is called and what type of ink works to "take off" the color?

Thanks ahead of time! YOu all are great and have given me so many new ideas!

It might be that you have the steps reversed. Try stamping in versamark, and then using your brayer over that once it's dry. I'll find a sample for ya.

There is a separate technique you can do to "take off" color but it uses pastels and non-glossy paper. I don't know if it has an official name, but I call it Reverse Poppin' Pastels. You take a piece of dark cardstock and apply color to the entire surface with pastels. You can use sponges, finger daubers, etc for this part. Then you stamp using Versamark ink. The Versamark sticks to the pastel color and removes it leaving an imprint the color of your original paper. To stamp several images, you must clean the stamp each time and the finished project must be sealed or the pastels will eventually rub off. I also find that solid and bold line stamp images, such as Vine and Berry or Lovely leaves, works best. I hope this helps.

Iim not sure, but I think you can do the same with Pearl Ex. I seem to remember that from the Demonstration Theater at Convention this year. Anybody else remember this?
