Default Brayer Techniques

Love the cards I see that use these techniques...don't own a brayer...don't know how to use one if I got one. Suggestions?
Also I have the 'lovely as a tree' set and want to do a mirror look like a reflection of the trees in water..heard you use the brayer for this too. How?

Sorry, I'm a rookie.

From what I've heard, you roll a brayer over your inked up trees to get the mirror effect. The ink transfers to the brayer and then you roll it out on your CS.

I've gotten away with not having a brayer so far. The techniques I like that might use them, like Resist Resist, could also be done with sponges. ;)

I just got a brayer for Mother's Day and have always wanted to try the mirrored (water reflection look). I have the set Lovely as Tree and have seen this done with this card many times. I have also purchased a Mirror Image stamp from Michaels and have used that on occasion. Although I have found that you have to a juicy ink pad to use it.

In using the brayer technique, do you need a juicy ink pad too? or a slow drying ink? How do you make the water?

Thanks for all your ideas and help.

I have not done the technique you listed, but thought this list might help you with your brayers. It is a Word document I got from here sometime ago. Hope it gives you some good ideas!

Thank you. Your attachement is wonderful. I am going to try some of the techniques on it today. I will post any cards that I make using them. Thanks again. Two heads are better than one.

Default Brayer Techniques

Thanks to Camsmom for posting this document with brayer techniques. I am teaching a techniques class on Friday evening and using the brayer was going to my theme for the evening. You've brighten my day and now, I have several ideas to share with my customers.

No problem!! If you look in the resources section (you might have to push away some cobwebs first-it is a much neglected forum, LOL) there are TONS of great tips for products!!!
