Default Bottle Caps

I've seen some beautiful work here that looks like the inside portion of the bottle cap is stamped and the textured edge is embossed. Absolutely beautiful. But my question is, for those of you who use bottle caps, where do you get them?? I've tried "collecting" some at home, but they get bent when removed from the bottle. ;-) Any clues on where to find or acquire usable bottle caps and any particular hints on stamping on them? TIA!

Not sure, but I would think the twist-off type wouldn't get bent when you take them off the bottle. Have you tried these?

Check out this site for bottle caps. They even have idea books for using them.

Cool..thanks for the link....I just ordered some bottle caps! Seemed like a great price for the package. The punch diameter looks to be about 1 1/4" so that should work with the one that SU sells (I think). We did a really cute pin at a Make and Take once and the lady had these round stamps (some were designs and others were words) and we stamped things...I did a jack o lantern and we mounted it inside the cap and around the edges we glued some plastic bead type things. It looked really cute.

I bought a bunch of brand new, uncrimped bottle caps online at a home brew supply store called The Grape & Granary for ultra cheap. To turn the edges down, I place the cap, edge side up, underneath a wood block and hit it with a hammer until it flattens out - this makes a nice, pretty frame. I use a non-SU 1" diameter round punch to punch out my stamped image. 1 1/4" is too large.
