TLC823 ~ Make Some Plaid with Inked Tape ~ 11/30/2020
Hello and Welcome to the TLC this week. I am revisiting a challenge I did over 2 1/2 years ago called Magic Masking Tape or as I called it, Inking with Tape. To add a twist this time though, I am challenging you to use this technique to create a plaid background since plaid is all the rage right now especially for holiday cards.
Make Some Plaid with Inked Tape In the past, it was referred to as 'Magical Masking Tape' technique. With that technique you needed to use masking tape on glossy paper. Well since many of us don't own any glossy paper and the masking tape could tear regular cardstock, I decided to rename it to Inking with Tape. I used Painter's Tape but you could use Washi Tape or even Scotch Tape if that is all you have on hand. I have added a link to Beate's original post above if you need a visual of how to do it.
Basically it's the same technique only using longer pieces of tape to create some plaid on regular cardstock.
Be sure to add the keyword to your card so it will appear in the gallery
Here is the card I created for this challenge:
I hope you will come and play along with us!
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

This sounds like great fun, Karen. As usual Monday is work and then housework, but I'll be along as soon as I can to try this.

Truly an "inky fingers" for me with your challenge. Karen. : ) The next time I do this technique, I think I will use more contrasting colors for a better plaid. Thanks for the challenge.

Made a Christmas card this evening using this inked plaid technique. Lots of fun! Wasn’t sure mine would turn out, but I’m happy with it.

I am finally getting to this - and had fun with it. Though I did end up with very inky fingers and wondered if I should have gone with my first thought of wearing gloves ;-).
