TLC168 - Embossed Watercolor
TLC168 Embossed Watercolor
The technique this week is to combine an embossed image with watercoloring. Embossing is such a basic technique, but I cant remember the last time I got out the heat gun and EP! It's always fun to watch the EP turn from dull to shiny. :-D
My example:
Lovely Lilac Roses for Mom
For a tutorial on embossing, just follow steps 1-5 of the Embossing Resist tutorial
Embossing Resist Tutorial
For a tutorial on watercoloring, take your pick:
Watercolor Crayons
Watercolor Pencils
Watercolor with Reinkers

Fabulous challenge! I haven't watercolored in forever, so this is a good one for me. I've been working on reorganizing my stamp area this weekend, so hopefully, I can do this one later today.

Well, I'm posting a card I did last week that fits this category, but I'll do another one today as well. I'm pleased with how this card turned out and watercolor is always a bit edgy for me.

Well I, for one, LOVE to emboss. I think it is one of my favorite techniques. Thanks for the great reason to bring out my heat gun Beth!!

Oh, this one sounds like fun. I just got WCC's recently and have been playing with them and I love my EPs - tonight after work maybe I can play.
Now, ladies, please tell me, what is the difference between a challenges stalker and a challenges lurker? I think I may have become a stalker! LOL
Have a great day all and

A stalker is someone who checks the forum over and over to see if the challenge has been posted yet. :-D
A lurker is someone who reads a thread but doesn't post to it.
Since you posted less than two hours after it was posted, I think that makes you a stalker! LOL! Welcome!

Why am I a bit confused about this challenge? Do you watercolor the image first and then emboss it? or do you emboss the image first using the emboss resist technique and then watercolor it? Also, do you have to use watercolor paper?
(I'm all out of mine!)
Thanks for the guidance everyone!

Love it
I love watercoloring embossed images, and I love the way Stipple Rose lends itself to this technique. I hope you like it.

I'll jump in and answer this for you! You emboss the image, then watercolor. You can do this on any card stock. Have fun!

Thanks for a great challenge today, Beth, I just read the thread and am pleased to know that I have an official title. ''Lurker'' for sure. ''Stalker'' sometimes.

Beth, this is really going to be a stretch for me, but the tutorial creates such a gorgeous result, I think I'll have to join in later. Thanks Beth.

Here is my Embossed Watercolor challenge. I like how this turned out even though I wasn't sure about what I was doing, but with great tutorials I think I did alright.
