Default TLC832 ~ Kaleidoscope Squares ~ {02/01/2021}

Happy February to us all!

I was interested in Dina's recent Kaleidoscope Squares tutorial, and thought it would be fun to see what other people did with it. I made a floral one soon after her tutorial featured in the Inkling, and this time round I tried something more masculine (and with less colouring). And then I went for another floral, using several stamps and piece-working the four pieces, instead of one large stamp as in Dina's tutorial. I found I had very few suitable large stamps, but it was quick enough to stamp each square with one stamp at a time, especially with the little jig/template to put it back in place each time.

I still remember the first kaleidoscope I got, in a Christmas stocking. It was fillled with the usual little plastic geometric shapes. I thought it was just magical! I still do find them fascinating. We had another one that my dad made - no fancy housing, it was just a triangle shape, and he had small bits of dried flowers in it. Not as vivid and jewel-like to chilhood eyes, but still beautiful.

I hope you will have fun trying this out.
Dina's tutorial (and video) can be found HERE in our tutorials section.
So please do remember to choose Technique Spotlight and Kaleidoscope Squares when you are uploading your creation with the keyword TLC832, and help build a library of inspiration.

In case we are still experiencing syncing issues with the gallery, it's even more helpful than normal if you come and post a link on the thread here so that we don't miss your card. (Mondays are exceptionally busy for me at the moment, so I may not be along to comment till Tuesday.

Here's a link to our TLC832 Kaleidoscope Squaresgallery

Here are my cardsApologies for the quality of the thumbnails. I have uploaded brokers the same size as for the last number of years and can't figure out the latest curve ball from the site.

Default Pretty links

PRETTY LINKS

As you have noticed, links still aren't auto-formatting.
BUT - the new editor is super-easy to use with adding your own text. I can even do it on my cell phone now, and I never used to be able to add links on that before . At least, not at 6 in the morning which is usually when I am moving my challenges around.

Click on the chain in the top row of icons - going right, after the A for font colour, there is the quote sign, the plus sign (not working for its designated function as a spoiler alert/hider so don't try it) and then the chain. This is the same as the old globe and chain/link icon.
When you click on that, you see the box shown in the attachment below - and I might even be able to insert it here after the thread is live.

You paste your LINK from your card in the bottom box highlighted in yellow.
You write your text in the top box highlighted in green.
You press OK, and you have a lovely link with your card title - or whatever you have typed in.
Doesn't matter which order you do it in, you can type first and paste after, so long as your LINK is in the BOTTOM box.

I actually started this when the tutorial came out and today was able to design the card. I've always loved kaleidoscopes and have a beautiful one that I look through regularly. Thanks for the tutorial and the challenge. ArtzadoniStudio's Gallery at Splitcoaststampers by Lori "Artzadoni"

Correct link - at least, that one wasn't working for me, took me to July 2020! TLC832 Kaleidoscope Couple by ArtzadoniStudio at Splitcoaststampers

Here is another one. Somehow, I forgot it was supposed to be squares.
