I am in charge of today's Technique Lover's Challenge TLC830. I found a super fun technique by . I have been binge watching her videos lately and can't wait to try more techniques from her.
Today's technique is a "floating element" technique. I had so much fun with this one and even better, I got to use up some of my scraps. (I always save the leftover pieces from handmade backgrounds for fun card techniques just like this one.) It was a perfect touch for my sweet little 4.25"x4.25" square card.
I can't wait to see what you create today - Have fun!!
In view of recent issues it is strongly advised that you share a link on this thread in case the keywords aren't working.
Thank You! I didn't realize it had gotten like this since my last post was a month ago. I will definitely be on top of it next time - I really appreciate you jumping in and fixing it for me!!

Hopefully, crossing fingers and toes, by next month things will be running more smoothly again. If not, this camel is near breaking point.
It's funny, because Anita had a similar problem, but the most recent challenge I posted went like a breeze.

I haven't had any issues before now either so it was just a surprise after I had been working on such a simple post for 2 hours and couldn't get it to work - it is all good though. I am just checking out the main gallery and looking for cards that fit the technique - so far there are some amazing takes on the challenge! I love seeing how people make these challenges there own!

I was trying to make my advice to add a link to the thread in red - but while linking is easier than it used to be, adding colour on the phone is hard. But since this keyword problem has been going on for a week, I think most people know by now that we might miss their creations unless they post on the challenge thread!
Sorry my link does not work. I've tried and tried to correct it to no avail. Just one more crazy thing going on with the site! Easier to just delete it.
this was fun and cute Lyn, Thanks for sharing it. I think I will do this again and will try to find some thinner Acetate I think. ( the stuff I have is for window on shakers I think) Here is one from me

Here is my second try at this technique. After looking at my first one I decided I needed to try again but add a bit more to it so I embossed the background this time. Floating Birthday - Floating Birthday by mms_911 at Splitcoaststampers
I'm working on my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking goal and some current challenges as well.
I have two "floating elements." The first are on the background panel and are color strips spaced on an acrylic panel, leaving a narrow acrylic strip space between each color strip to allow the black under panel to show through. Second, a final acrylic panel overlays the color strip panel and hosts the red poppy die-cut and the "happy birthday" shadow die-cut which appear to float about the color strips.
