I've got a fun challenge for you this week, take a piece of acetate, fold it double, add double side tape to the 3 open sides, put some drops of acrylic paint or liquid ink in the middle and close the "pocket"
Now you take a double folded card and die cut an aperture in the center with any shape you want, not too small, you glue your pocket between the 2 die cut sides then you finish your card as you want. I've used mine in front of a stamped and colored scene, I've also made some with paint and embossed frame.See thumbnails.
I've tried one in a plastic bag with adhesive that works very well too, you can leave the back side of your card open so the light will show through or add it on a white base if you want to stamp something under the paint or ink, the fun of this is each time you touch the bag with your fingers the paint or ink moves so you can play with it.
Remember to use the keyword TLC783 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
Thanks for posting a great challenge Anita, and persevering through the editing issues. I find it almost, no - make that totally impossible to get everything right in my first post, and editing is like wandering into unknown territory not knowing what pitfalls await.I had great fun trying this last night, hope to finish it up after work today.
Help! I've tried twice with Stampin' Up's Tear and Tape product. It leaks at the places where the tape comes together. What are the rest of you using? Don't just say double-sided tape. Tell me brands and details.

Don't put too much paint and stay in the middle of your acetate, you could try tacky glue and move your paint later when the glue has dried.
I hope it will work for you I'm sorry it didn't work with your tape
Thanks, Anita. Yes this would be fun with kids. I used a packaging pouch. I like the air bubbles. I can see where using acetate would prevent colors from mixing too much. TLC783 Paint Play by Lori "Artzadoni"
I remembered that we had done something similar to this long, long ago. Took me awhile to remember what/how we did it. I looked through my gallery starting from the back. Ta da! We put hair gel in the pouch for TLC135. I remembered because I had to come up with something for my ATC Technique Album. I ended up putting a lot of glitter (and no liquid) in the pouch for my album. The glitter smooshed around and had some of the characteristics of the hair gel. LOL!
yes that's another technique where you can enclose stuff in the bag with the hair gel or hand sanitizer, I think this challenge was not so long ago I must check that!!

Yes, I remember making my first gel card maybe about two years ago - I gave it to my nephew for his birthday. I think I'm much less worried about these paint ones leaking. At least with George's card I posted it in a parcel, otherwise I wasn't sure if I'd risk it.
Thanks for the challenge Anita. Whilst hubby was doing his thing and said he would be ready in 30 mins before we have to head out, I thought I would go and try this technique.
Oh my....instead of any ink being left inside my acetate pocket it ended up all over my hands, my mat, the die cut CS and the roll of double sided tape lol. I’ve just spent about 10 mins trying to scrub it off my hands. Not a good look when you have an important event to go to tomorrow lol. Hubby says at least I can say I’m a crafter lol.
When we return I shall try again. I wondered if it will work if I double sew the pocket seams and using acrylic paints....there’s no way I’m using those liquid ones except for spraying lol. I’ve cut up the acetate and washed it ready to try again later lol.
I love the effect of this technique so want to give it a go.
Happy day

Ann, round 2...I decide to run with the tape again inside and out after cutting the acetate down from the first attempt. I also stapled the sides lol. I put way too much acrylic ink in and out it squishes from the bottom. It’s everywhere. I try rubbing inside the acetate to give it some effect inside of one blob of colour...I guess you could say ladies I was moving it and it’s all over me again lol. So I cut it open and this is what happened lol.
I’m not one to waste ink or paint so I pick up the first stencil I can get to...green paint everywhere...and start plonking down ready cut panels and wiping the baby wipe through the stencil. Check out the cool effects.
I may have green and blue paint all over my scissors, chopping board...my new now green stencil..and before I cleaned, all over my desk and drawers. I don’t think I will be using green for a while lol.
Anita, I tried but I think I may need the help of your daughter and granddaughter lol. I just can’t get the acetate to stick with the tape I have. I even tried glueing the sides shut.
Still, I’m happy with my panels and they will go onto some cards in due course. Thanks again.
Have fun everyone. Here’s some photos to give you a giggle.

I don't know what kind of tape you've got girls, but try it with acrylic paint and do NOT put too much paint/ink on the acetate or in the plastic bag, my daughter and i have made about 10 different ones in an hour, my granddaughter only made 2 but she was so proud, Sabrina used the red strong double side tape and don't forget, staples make holes...I'm so sorry it didn't work for you.

Just tried it again and used some plastic report covers. Used acrylic ink this time and had success! It's drying right now! I had a bit of leakage out at one of the tops but quickly added more scor-tape to the corner and it's holding now that it is in the card.
