TLC531 ~ Stencil THIS or Stencil THAT ~ {04/27/2015}
Stencil THIS or Stencil THAT.
Happy Monday, everybody; it's Sabrina here, it's my week for hosting the TLC challenge.
I thought I would bring you two options this week - you could even use the same stencil to try both techniques.
I was delighted to see Lee-Anne's Stencil Monoprints tutorial in the Weekly Inkling a couple of weeks ago, I have been really inspired by her use of stencils. I know some of you have already tried this once or twice - but for me, practice makes perfect...or at least improves...so I hope you won't mind trying again.
And, :mrgreen:, if anybody still has some glitter still on their desks from Joan's super Negative Glitter challenge earlier this month, I would like to suggest that you try the Glittered Stencilling technique. Dina suggets PVA glue - I think I usually use acrylic paint, and so long as I sprinkle quickly, it holds the glitter perfectly well. For my card this week I used a clear-drying acrylic modelling paste. I love the look this technique gives.
Whichever you try, I hope you'll have fun. Don't have a stencil? Punch or die-cut your own. You can use thin acetate, I've also used some oiled manilla card sold especially for stencilling.
Here are my cards:
Stencil Monoprint: TLC531 Faithful Panda
Glittered Stencilling: TLC531 Sparkly Hello
Remember to use the keyword TLC531 when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread.
(We have special galleries for both these techniques. When you upload to the Technique Spotlight galleries, you are helping to create a library of inspiration for the community here! Here's how to upload to those galleries - and the cards will always be in your Member gallery too ;-).
Main Gallery drop-down -->Technique Spotlight
Sub Gallery drop-down --> Glittered Stencilling OR Stencil Monoprint)
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
